Screw Smartparts......bought a Dye instead.

Well, I was gonna buy a Freak with SS inserts but I said screw it. I bought a couple of ultralight backs and 14' tip.

I know, I know, Dye barrels are a rip off, yadda, yadda, yadda......... but I like Dye. I've always had good experiences with their stuff and I trust their quality control. I got it today. The set is freakin gorgeous!

Smartsparts.............I just couldn't break down and give them cash. Not after what they did to my beloved AKA...........:pissed: (not that AKA fought much...... :rolleyes: )

Good choice, i'd take Dye barrels over SP anydays, not that SP barrels are bad, just Dye barrels are better.
AKA was too small to put up any real fight.

plus sp barrels aren't true honed like dyes. This means that dye's barrels are truer to each other than sp's.

SP doesn't make the best stuff anymore, much less for the best price. I'm not buying there stuff anymore, for that reason, plus there attempt of trying to monopolize pb.

Yup. It is. And I wouldn't exactly call buying a Dye barrel "blowing my money." Is it everyone's first choice? No. But like I said, I know what I'm getting with Dye. Putting my money towards something based on nothing other than what very biased pbreview regulars say and getting less than what I expected is blowing my money.

Doesn't mean I don't value opinions, but I've gotten burnt before.......

lucky, i was just starting my 05 viking fund when they got shut down.
Not sure what to get now, either mech cocker or go really high end like a trix or cyborg.
