on/off adapter

I bought the smart parts inline on/off adapter. I just wanted to know if it is okay to leave the adapter attached to my gun with the c02 on the adapter with the valve closed or do i have to dis-charge the tank?
P.S. I have a Tippmann 98 Custom with a 20oz c02 tank.

It should be fine as long as it's off.

it will be fine as long as it is off and you shoot out all the CO2 that is already in the gun.
