I have lots of questions that would be great if u guys can answer them.
1. I can't decide if i should get the impy or cocker? i like the cocker cuz lots of upgrading and taking abprt and messing around with it, but i dont wanna spend a grip of money on a gun, cuz i gotta start saving for a car and college. i like the Impy but im worried about getting sand through that top slit, and messing up the circuit board.
2. Will the centerflag cube 68ci 4500psi N2 tank be good enough for the Impy?
3. Is the Vision worth the extra 200 bucks? can i put one in later or do i need to buy it with the gun?
4. I was thinking of buying a PMI perfect cradle for the gun is their anything else i would need for the drop forward?
5. Should I buy my new gun soon or wait a little longer? I have been playing with a shutter right now, i played about 8-9 rec games, and played a little bit of speedball with my friends.
THank You

'Cocker VS Impulse
I was in the same situation, and look where I'm at now. *Hint* Check my signuature. :)
Why'd I choose Impulse over 'Cocker? Firstly, price...Impulse isn't that much more...$400, 'Cockers are $335 or so?
Well, Impulse, I get simplicity in design...I can take care of this 'gun, I know how it works...it's very simple.
Secondly, it's electro. You can't short stroke it like a 'Cocker, and you'll never fire a 'Cocker as fast as this.
Impulses are the best bang for your buck. You want speed? I can shoot my Impulse just as fast as an Angel. How do I know? I've shot both.
Consistency? I'm running CO2, my chrono readings...272, 272, 272.
Accuracy? My paint match actually wasn't that good, the PMI Premium's couldn't be blown through my barrel...however I was stacking balls on top of each other.
I've owned a 'Cocker before, I loved it, it's a great 'gun, but honestly, I feel the Impulse blows it out of the water.
As for getting sand into the 'gun and circuit board...Smart Parts..."Smart" Parts...they took all of that into consideration, you don't have to worry about it. Sure, I guess it's possible to get it a little dirty, but under normal conditions, you should be fine. They even coated the board with a water repellant coating to help protect the board.
The Centerflag 68/4500 would be perfect for your Impulse, but a 20oz Antisiphon Co2 will do just as good. Your reg won't get cold with the nitro, but that's about it. I already told you my consistency on CO2.
Vision is worth it if you need it. Me? I don't play tourney, yet, so I felt like I didn't need it. I laughed when I read in the manual "in the UNLIKELY event of a ball break." I thought SP had big ego's. I now understand why they said that...NO breaks or chops so far...it's quite nice not having to clean out breaks.
If you're playing rec ball, you should be fine without the Vision. You can always add it later on if you decide you want or need it.
PMI Perfect cradle? That's up to you. I was thinking about that, then saw it on some Impulses, I personally thought it didn't look too good. It just spaced way too far down...looked a bit ugly.
On the other hand, I've gotten numerous compliments on my CP Lightning drop.
And it's really up to you when you want to buy your 'gun. If you want to start playing at a higher level, get it as soon as you can, this has really ALLOWED me to step up my game. Couldn't do that with a Spyder.
And one last thing, is if you plan to purchase it online, make SURE to order it from FOM at e-paintballoutlet.com
Check out his Custom Impulse page and build your own. You can even get a $25 discount for being a member of a few forums.
FOM sets up all of his guns and tests them before shipping. Many of us ordered our Impulses from him and we don't have any problems.
Hope I was of help, good luck.

Horse hockey! nitro will help you seals last longer, and be more consitant, and you don't have to worry about liquid, no matter what angle you take your shot from, and fill nitro wieghs much less than filled CO2, my friend has a imp on a centerflag, it works pretty sweet.

Both of my Imps are fed only nitro! It's a kinder gentler way to treat my o-rings, while still providing me the luxury of killing my enemies with consistant power, and accuracy!

Yes, you won't have to worry about the reg getting cold and nitro will be easier on your orings...but consistency? 272, 272, 272...how can nitro be better? ;)
I'm not flaming nitro...it's good stuff, I'll eventually pick up a nitro tank...but no need for one right now! :D

I think joejoe is making a good point, unlike most guns, the Impulse will work just as well on CO2 as it does on Nitro. Yes there is a difference in the maintenance from using nitro, but the performance is very close to the same.
Remember that not everyone has access to nitro so for some this is a major selling point.
