Well i am pretty sure i will be getting a nitro tank soon, so i am looking in the $150 range right now.

At actionvillage.com they have a 68/45 crossfire tank for $170 or i can get a pmi 68/3k for $150 at acepaintball. which one should i get?

my friend has the pmi and its pretty good, but i would rather get the 45k because of the extra shots, but i am worried about the pmi being a superior tank to the crossfire.

can anyone help me out?

I have a crossfire 88ci 3000psi and it meets the demands of my impulse. It's got a fast recharge rate so theres no drop off at high rates of fire.

I have the 68/3000 crossfire stubbie.....it's not much heavier than a 20oz C02 tank....a fiber wrapped tank the same size is much lighter

I got it about a year ago when they first came out....have never had any problems with it at all...I don't even have to think about it....and never have a problem with drop off....and you more than likely won't with any preset tank...because it would be your second reg that would cause the drop...andyway...

I think the best thing about the stubbies are that you don't have to worry about bumps and nicks on the tank.....or covering it...

i think they are actually pretty good. they have a very nice recharge rate so you wont have any shootdown. there is a video on www.paintballchannel.com that shows the recharge rate of there tanks. and $170 for a 68/4500, cant be beat, go for it.

i was reading over on pbnation how that could easily be faked by setting the dwell really short so it doesnt need much air or something, so now i am pretty weary of that claim.

but thanks guys anyways.

I jsut orderd and recieved a crossfire 68 ci 3000 psi firbro wrapped tank. I found it cheaper on paintballgear.com but 888paintball.com matched it and gave me 10% off. So all in all i payed about 150 for it. It is a great tank if you don't wana pay upwards of 300 for a N2 tank i would recommmend any crossifre to anybody.

I paid 160 for my 88ci 4.5k PMI PE tank...and would go with either the crossfire or the pmi...their both good. The new crossfires are suppose to be better with drop off than the old ones were. And well...I know quite a few people that run PE's with their angels...so not even an issue...just make sure you have a decent secondary reg.

I still want a 45/45 PE...

The physics involved make the stubbies inferior tanks. They don't get a good fill because of the heat conductivity of metal. You are 100% right about the recharge rate faking. I've seen how it's done.

For my money, I'd MUCH rather have the PE tank ANYDAY, just make sure you get the fiberwrapped ones.

i have a 68 3k steel PE and my tank stays the same after it fills. it used to drop almost 1000psi by the time i got home, but the guy at my local shop got a new fill station and he can fill it slower so it doesn't get so hot.

Most people don't fill it like that though. The only advantage to steel tanks are that they are cheap.
