I had 1 chopped ball out of every 50 this weekend shooting Midnights. (C98 w/Flatline) Any suggestions that could correct this or paint that works better?

Last time I shot Midnights I got 1 in about every 3 chop. :| I think it was just bad luck on my part -- not sure though.
Paint that works nicely through the flatline would be any of the following:
Marablizers, PMI Premium, RPS Superswirls, Evil
These are my personal favorites. I've never had any good luck with DraXXus, don't know why.

Thanks. The guy at the store said he used midnights in his and he loved them so I gave them a try. To bad I bought 2000.
Are all those about the same price?

sell the flatline and buy a decant barrel that is not paint picky like a Custom Products 1 piece.

im with tippmann1223, i had a flatline and sold it because, it was high mantnence, picky on paint, inaccurate and poorley made
that is my opinion i just bought an ultralite and i love it.
any way i think some of the better paint for the flatline was:
evil, hellfire, and blaze

I think Marbs are the most expensive... They're all pretty much up there, though. They're expensive considering the cost of paint.

Dusks work well.

draxxus and diablo both break easy and u need tough paint to shoot through a flatline because of the curve in the barrel so i would go with rps advantage paint such as premium, marbalizers, super swirls

but my opinion is get rid of that peice and get a barrel that isnt as paint picky and it isnt high maintenenced

sell the flatline and buy a decant barrel that is not paint picky

Well, if I did buy another barrel, what barrel is the best for less than $100? How about under $150?
Who sells barrel for the best price?

i have a 98c w/flatline and i used to chop paint in it like no other. then i got an empire reloader...haven't chopped one since. flatlines a good barrel and its not as picky as everyone says, bore size has never given me a problem either.

My friend's cousin has a flatline on his 98c, he uses evil paint (the ones with the little 'E' on them). It works perfectly (believe me, I was on the receiving end of his shot:P)

i used dusks in my flatline and they never chop. if you don't have an electric feeder though you might run into the problem where you have to keep shaking your gun if your shooting to fast. Other than that the flatline is awsome. oh yeah don't use zap rec series because they suck in the flatline

The flatline was designed to be used with marbs, so guess what would work great? Marbs!!
Actually any other medium bored decent quality paint should work well, i've seen people shoot spank and primer with some decent groupings.
Best paint for the buck though has to be chronic, although i've yet to see anybody use it though a flatline.

maybe its your gun chopping ablls and not the flatline. i ahve never brokena ball in my flatline of course its a5 so it doesn't have chopping issues. by the way chopping has nothing to do with the barrel

well that isnt true bc the bore size in the barrel could be to small for it to go through i dont kno if u consider this chopping or the ball breaking in your barrel

uhhh, i see what you eman, well considering the flatline is 7.0 jsut about any paintball will go down it, except 3 month old puffy ones. so taht shouldn't be a problem. i've never broken a ball is my gun, barrel or anywhere on my a5. so my flatty has earned its wings.

I just shot some draxxus paint for the first time in my flatline and had nothing but trouble. Its very brittle, which is good for breaking on target, but bad for breaking in a barrel that puts quite a bit of stress on it like the flatline. I dont know about the 98 version, but the A-5 flatline is amazing when you have to shoot in a straight line through bush, but only when you have the right paint.. if not, its pretty frustrating when you see your shots corkscrewing out of control. lol

Since freshness seems to be everything, why don't they stamp a manufacture date on the box so we will know when it was made and how old it is?
I mean, how the heck do I know if the paint is really fresh. I hear it in the pro shop, "We get our paint the same week it's made!"
Prove it! Where's the manufacture date. How long has it been sitting around some warehouse.

Ok, my marbs got here today. All I can say is OMFG! :jumping:
I set up the old truck tailgate and tested @ a measured 50', 75', 100', 150' and 200'.
Standing, air temp. 83 degrees, calm, with a fresh Co2 tank, I can paint the gate with every shot out to 150'. After that I get 8 or 9 out of 10 anywhere I put the dot out to 200'!
Using bursts with the R/T It's very cool to watch 3-5 balls single file into the same spot on the target! Color me happy.
Now I have a paint the marker loves, I just hope I can shoot it @ my field!
Will this madness ever end?
Thanks to everyone for the imput. Marbs is the stuff for the flatline in the A5! Good deal Greedy!
