Hey, I have been in the sport sort of on and of for a few months and think if I get into a field i figure out how much fun it is. I have an Imagine with a 16 in barrel. [Bought it after evedently talking to a friend that is retarded then got on here and relized that i need 14 or 12] and the rest is stock. [ If I have anything listed in my sig. its inccorect because they dont work. ] I wanted to know if I need a Reg. go to a field and try to play. So I can adjust my velocity. I think I am firing hot although my little brother can take a hit. I was thinking a Palm or what ever they are. But is it needed. I think I need a pod too. Then some Anti-fog spray terrible. IF anything else I need I am welcome to suggestions or comments.

Well regs arent needed, but they're one of the first upgrades always suggested for pbguns. They lead to better consistancy, which means better accuracy. So i suggest getting one. Along with that, the first three recommended upgrades are a electronic barrel and hopper (and reg). Once you get those, you'll be set for a while.
And dont worry about buying a 16" barrel, they're the new things these days, as they can push objects like inflatable bunkers or even bushes away.

Your barrel is a fine size. Keep it.
A reg is definetly important...if you use co2 and you can afford it, definetly get a Palmers Stabalizer.
If your mask isn't thermal, you could either pick up some fog spray like you said, or you could always buy a replacement thermal lense and you won't have to worry about the spray.
Regulators play no part in adjusting your velocity, refer to your markers manual to learn how to do that. The regulator simply makes sure that you actually shoot consistantly to what your velocity is set at. When you use co2, you can get things like velocity spikes, where there is too much air pressure let into your marker and you shoot hotter than what your markers velocity is set at, or shootdown, where there is not enough air let in. The reg will make sure there is a steady air flow in every shot.

Heh, woops, sorry bout that. I guess I wasnt thinking straight that late.
And hurley, maybe not on his gun, but on many (if not most) electro guns, you do adjust the velocity with the regs. I guess this really has nothing to do with his, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Correct, but certainly not on an Imagine. If the reg comes stock it will, most of the time, be the adjuster, but like you said not in this case.
Nothing is needed except for a few things.
Stock gun
Mask
Paint
Maybe a hopper or you can play feeding one at a time
I don't play with a gun sometimes. I just act as a spotter, and wait for someone to give me a gun.

a reg is not needed to play. It is definately an advantage to have one, it makes your ball speed more consistant as you have heard. If all your worried about is your gun shooting hot, turn your velocity down so that your highest ball speed is under 300 fps. your 16" barrel should be fine, although I would have gotten a 14" instead. other upgrades:
electric hopper,
I would suggest a drop (or cradle), so that it easier to pull your gun behind the bunker, especially since you have a 16" barrel.
compressed air tank, get a big tank (68ci or bigger) because you wont have to worry about the liquid Co2 going in your gun.

I thoguth I heard you could turn your psi that went through your reg or something with an allen wrech. Causing less velocity.

WTF are you serious? Explain to me what your job is as a spotter.

If you don't have a working marker or you run out of paint/air during a game, you can stay and be a "spotter", and browse the field and call out where everyone is. You should also just be popping out acting like you're trying to snapshoot, to draw some lane fire from the opposing back players and free it up on your team. If you're fast, you can start running from bunker to bunker as well, anything to draw fire.
Just because you don't have a working marker, doesn't mean you can't be a big help on the field.
