hey,
my impulse has a faint leak... it's not extremely noticable or anything but I can hear it leak like inside my room when I air it up. It seems to be comming from the bolt, or around there... and if I put some pressure on the bolt pin it goes away.... until I let go of it again... I was just wondering if anyone else's imp does this too?

Also I kinda stripped my detent, and it doesn't go out as far as it used to. I have a tournament this saturday and I don't have any paint to try it with, so will I double feed alot?(the other detent is fine)
thanks

Your hammer might be a little loose, I'd check it, might be the problem. When I switched to an SS hammer I couldn't screw it all the way in the first few times and had the same leak.
As for the detent, try pushing it back out a little. This is done simply by placing a smaller hex key into your stripped hole and pushing the ball (you chould actually see the ball). I'm assuming you have the stock detents though. That will fix that until you buy new ones that you could strip again!

I'd say get a NDZ one, they supposedly last a little longer, but they're 25 bucks a pop.

25$ per pair

clean your solenoid, that could also be the problem, but considering you just installed a new hammer that more likely the cause of the leak.

haha, I did mean for the pair, though you know, once you strip those, you'll buy more, and so on...
I refuse to admit I'm wrong!:P

my imps fairly new.... i got it in feb. and i've played with it like 5 times... so it's most likely the hammer

well i got a new one from pbwholesalers and my gaskets come tommaorw. oh and i think i scored 2 noids from them cause over the phone i told them i ordered, i didn't go through so i ordered again, low and behold here is the one i ordered before the 2nd order and i think they just told me to keep the second one cause it was their mistake. i let you know on friday how the gun is acting.
Remeber to be good to your noids and they will be good to you peoples:D

That hammer cannot be leaking... it's a solid piece of metal.

If pushing on the pull pin changes the leak, then I can only come to a few things that could be wrong.

1. When pushing on the pull pin, you push the hammer, which is connected to the ram. If this stops the leak then the leak my be the front oring inside the ram that seals the shaft. The extra pressure helps seal the shaft at the point of the leak. Or the front oring on the outside of the housing is leaky and the pressure is helping to seal it.

To test this, simply turn the hammer assembly 1/2 turn counter clockwise and see what happens. If you still have a leak and when you push on the pull pin the leak stops, then I seriously doubt the problem is going to be the ram assembly because you are pushing (and giving a better seal) on the opposite side of the assembly.

2 My next guess to where the leak is coming from is the valve seal or front o-ring on the valve body. pushing the pull pin down will also slightly increase the pressure on the bolt, which could cause it to seal better around the exhaust whole to the body. So if your leak is coming slowly through there it could very easily muffle it. Like trying to scream through a pillow.

3. If you are familliar with the "water test" for the spool valve guns (DM4, Matrix, New Shocker) I suggest you try it on your Imp. Spray some water (I prefer windex cause it bubbles better) into the bolt face while your gun is aired up and pointed toward the ceiling. If you can see bubbles coming from the center of the bolt, then the leak is most likely the ram. If the bubles are coming from the outside of the bolt then the leak is mostlikely the valve.

I hope that helps you.

Dr. J
