warp feed connections

Where does the warp feed connect to the gun to keep it stable. Like, i know it obviously feeds into the feed tube, but other than that. Does it attach to the grip? Alright maybe i'm retarded, but i still wanna know.

it has brackets that you mount to your gun to hold it in place. if you dont see a good picture of one it just kinda looks like its floating there
