A deadman walk is not cheating on every field, but you did hit the major themes. I voted wiping, but i also can't stand to play with people who won't call themselves out. You forgot one that should definitly be on the list, shooting a hot gun. I can't stand it when people shoot over the established field limit. It's one thing to get a nasty velocity spike, and there's not much you can do about that, but the people who crank up their velocity just "Because," should be ejected.

he meant dead man talking, where you're out, andyou give your teammates info. Breaks the rule:dead men don't talk.

I vote hot gun at close range....

Any other type of cheating is bad for the game...but a hot gun is bad for your health....

yeah, you're out, you're out ... same as passing paint to teammates after you've been eliminated. "Dead Men Can't Help."

yea muck i was talking about talking when your out

Yeah, at skyball, you arent even allowed to yell "OUT" after hit. Makes good sense, because then it alerts your team mates and can draw their attention to what could have been a sweep all the way down a tape. Playing on after hit probably irritates me the most

ahh yes but u forget the trick of calling a paint check on someone else so the refs aren't looking and then over shooting or what not

I think dead man talk is worse than wiping paint, but they are both really bad. Someone who was out at the tourney we just played at was talking to the last player still in, and my teammate and i both yelled in the loudest most annoying voice, "You cant talk to him....youre out!" The refs heard it but didnt say anything, and the kid shut up. It was funny but serious at the same time. Ruining or giving away the other team's strategy i consider worse than wiping paint.

if some one flips u the finger and u shoot them right on the finger nail, is that cheating?

I had a perfect instance of not calling ones self out... we were playing walkons at outdoor adventures in bowie md and anyone who has played there knows the refs are lenient about chronoing and for the most part this is due to understaffing... as well as under reffed we were playing a woods game and it was the last games of the day and the teams were something like 15 on 15 anyway I got to my first bunker off the break and was exchanging fire with a few of the front runners and took about 3 out... and then a man advanced and pinned me down so I was laying down on my back
and another of his team mates took up a bunker just to the left of my bunker and so I shouldered my cocker and let 3 balls fly all three hit him and I said you're hit and the refs were overwhelemed at that minute so he layed behind a bunker whiping himself off and then three of his teamates came rushing one by one to the same bunker I shot the first one and the next two who were running footsteps behind each other shot me up pretty good and as I was walking away the with my arms up I looked at him and yelled how many times do I have to shoot you? and he said none of them broke. I was like whatever cause when I smacked him three times i got the deer in the headlights look from him and I was going to keep shooting him but I was only 25 feet away I just *****ed to my teammates and walked away as well as a guy who had been gogged like no other he started to walk off and as sson as he got near the center of the field 3 guys all pelted him tearing him up even after the ref yelled he's out what is wrong with you!!! I hate cheaters..it make me so mad sometimes i'd like to stitch em up and down until I see paint on them.... doesn't make it fair to overshoot a honest player though

it sucks pretty bad if you get shot with a frozen paintball with a hot gun.

simon woodstock

all of these are really annoying, but its causes paint if some1 is shooting you with frozen balls and a high velocity. by the way, good poll.

i think the dead men helping shouldn't be illigal when passing paint, in saving private ryan, how many times did u see them plucking ammo from the dead or wounded?

if you're just playing w/ friends and some 1 wipes then we just light 'em up, most times where i play if you cheat you pay for it. and as for dead man talking, i've seen lots of people make subtle head movements or point w/ their gun, behind their back to where the enemy is. that just ruins the fun for everybody

well it don't matter too me cheating is cheating.Someone will always do it or try it.Me i had a chance in a speedball game to wipe the tip off my gun. Ref or the guy that hit me didn't see it. I called my self out. I get no glory out of cheating. If I have too cheat too win i have no reason too play cause it don't make me feel any better.

good point creek. whats the point of playing if you don't get the satisfaction of winning honestly? pluss, if you get out who cares, there will be another game again in 20 minutes.

I was playing on my birthday a while back, and this kid had crawled up on the RV I was using for cover, which was under HEAVY enemy fire (other team was kicking our @$$, we were last ones left). One of my friends farther back, who was still in, started yelling, "He's right there! He's right the hell there! SHOOT HIM SHOOT HIM SHOOT HIM!!!!" I leaned out from behind the RV and wasted the guy. I saw a couple of balls break on him, big bright yellow spots. I quickly ducked back behind cover, as many people were shooting at me. I assumed that the guy I shot would walk off the field like an honest player. That guy later got me out. As I was walking off the field, though, I gave my friend what was left of my paint (he was very low) so that he could shoot the guy for me. My friend LIT HIM UP. Big time (he knows the guys reputation). He got my friend out, too. I don't regret giving my friend paint at all, although I wouldn't do it again. At the time, I actually was unaware of the rule against it.

All of them are really bad things to do. I picked the high velocity setting because they really hurt and bruise. Some guys with autocockers thought it would be fun to turn their velocity up in a game of speedball and broke skin when they shot me point blank.

I agree With TL all of them are bad. Except alot of people do them. Wiping of after a hit sucks cause people never get eliminated, Using bad mods also suck, people also sometimes whip up the velocity very high. you also forgot the people out of boundries which sucks too.

Dead man Talking is the worst. I snipe and i can't tell u how many times i've had my position given away by newbies sittin in the dead box. Wiping, and not goin out don't bug me that much, cause i just hitem bout 3 mo times in sinc and they'll be pretty quick to call themselves out.

i've changed my mind, i used to think illegal gun modes but when some1 doesn't call theirself out, then you get hit by that person. this happens a lot, some1 will just keep shooting after you hit them, then after they hit you they say
"oooh look you got me too, cool."

When people crank their velocity with the rear adjuster. I have seen about 4 people with busted hoppers, because a paintball went through it. If it were to hit them in the goggles, god only knows what would happen.

Im going to have to say that dead man talking would be because at a place that us mainers play at when you get out you go up into a tower and watch the game. If you could talk to your teamates you could screw over so many people on the other side. It woould be so easy to gain control over the other team. Like the last time I played two people were in a bunker and we were playing capture the flag. One guy had 2 flags and was coming back to our bunker and he got shot and left the flags right where he got shot. The thing that sucked was us above were getting frustrted because the people in the bunker wouldnt go get the flag and it was about 25 ft from there bunker. BUT...there was another bunker 35 ft behind it so all the sudden on our team there was 2 people left in the game and about 10 of the other teams players surrounded the fort and made a surrender. WHAT A GAME.

Joel Timberlake,
I saw someone get a busted hopper on an indoor field where the chrono was at 220. Everyone there was pretty cool too, no one seemed prickish enough to increase the speed of their gun. As far as I know it wasn't a point blank shot to the hopper either. So its probably the weak quality of a hopper, not the velocity of the paintball.

Plus goggles are designed to (and must) take the impact of a 400 fps shot from less than a meter away. (I read that in the complete guide to paintball) So don't worry about your goggles busting. :) Still, chronoing up your gun ... anything that compromises the saftey of the sport shouldn't be taken lightly. So I'd have to say the illegal gun mods

yeah, I hate the whole velocity crank up thing. Oh god, its scary playing with ***holes that play back yard paintball with me. There is always that one guy in the back "yeah... thats your velocity, you just wanna crank that up alot" (no cronos) and then that just starts a chain reaction of " hey if he's turning his up then I will too" Lol I think I'm the only one that plays with regulation 280
