I took my tippmann 98 custom apart and this little pin went shooting across the room. Is that pin important?

Could you tell where the pin came flying out of? Theres a few pins that could have flown out.

Which end did it come from? If it was the from the back end of the gun it's more than likely your drive spring guide pin. You MUST have this. http://tippmann.com/support/manual/98cmanual.pdf
So find it!!!:D

the pin that flew out is probably the spring guide... if not the front sight spring which are the two most common things that tend to go blast-off when you open your gun.

if it was the front sight spring you can make your own w/ needle nose pliers, a straight pin, and some patients, and bending. That happened to me once, and my homemade spring was one of those needles w/ the plastic pearl thing at the end. it has to be flexible though, paper clips and stuff wear out and break, so dont try that.

If it was the drive spring pin, there is a nail that you can get from the hardware store to replace it that is of equal size and shape. I will try to search and come back and edit my post w/ the link. EDIT: Searching is great. PBR is like one GIANT LIBRARY, you just gotta know how to use it. :D

BOOYAH compliments of p8ntba11dude89 from a while back. everyone say "thanks pballdude" :P

Noth of those things need to be there. WIthout the front site spring the hopper will always fall to the right when the marker even slightly tilts to the right. And the spring guide needs to be there or the spring will bunch up.

All you need to do is tighten the front sight screw a little more. It'll pinch the front sight and keep it from moving.

Meaning... the elbow won't come off.
