I have been perusing guns for a while now looking for my next "Marker of Death." (however it wont probably be for a few more months or even later) Im going to buy a new gun eventually, probably not for awhile though, but it WILL be an electro. I know im jumping the gun, but ive narrowed it down to Shocker 4x4, Bushy (preferably the LCD), and the Impulse. Which one?

Because 1) It's great stock, barrel, grips and all
2) Runs great off Nitro or CO2
3) Super accurate, out of the box!
4) It'll build up your arm muscles :P

One resaon i didn't but the shocker was the batt you can't just put a 9vt. in it and you cant recharge the stock one.and if you dont lift weighs the shocker gets heavy. I went Impluse 9vt. batt. anystore. can get recharger at radio shack and recharge batts for hooper and gun that way. a little liter than the snocker and not as wide

you can run the Shocker off 9v batts. The adapter is just like the standard batt plug with a 9v clip on the end. JUst don't use NEW 9v's, they have too much juice. Just use the old one's out of your Revvy, or pick up the one's left behind at the field. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

I love my Defiant (BM2K) and I can't see how you could go wrong with buying one. On the other hand, shockers aren't too shabby either. I think if you picked either the shocker or the bushy you would have a winner... look at your wallet and try both guns before you buy! Good Luck ;)

Go with a bushy many modes of fire can be upgraded it is good looking gun the shocker is very big and haevy but I guess it depends on the person so I would say go with a bushy LCD version
shocker is the best...comes with best barrel, reg, and accuracy. you can't go wrong with the shocker...plus it can stand rain. i played with mine in the middle of a thunderstorm and it works just as well as in normal wether.

The shocker has a nasty trigger. The bushmaster has much more potential and isnt the size of a truck. i wouldnt get the icd lcd, you can use that money to get an intellifeed or antichop eye or the dv8 lcd maybe a new chip. the stock lcd isnt really that great.

What the hell are you talking about saying that the shocker has a nasty trigger?

My LS 2000 did have a nasty trigger w/ a lot of side2side slop. I got a Werm 2x, and it is tight! No side2side and the pull is as long as a mouse-click.
I'd go with the Bushy. They're compact, look good, and highly upgradable. Shocker's big and heavy, but closed bolt which is a nice feature. I don't know the prices on those, but isn't Bushy slightly cheaper?

a shocker although slightly heavier than other guns, it weighs 4.5 pound is a good gun. IT IS MORE DEPENDABLE THAN BUSHYS AND IMPULSES. and again if the weight factor comes in and everyone moans and groans about the weight. IT ISNT THAT HEAVY. IF YOU CANT LIFT IT, BUY A FREAKING TALON.

Ive never heard of anyone having trouble with an inpulse or a bushmaster. The shocker weighs twice as much as a bushmaster. Because of dcpaintball.com the bushmaster has the best upgrades at the best prices. With a $200 dv8 upgrade you will have a gun that can do everything an angel can do. Add a new trigger or do a trigger job and the trigger will be just as sweet. The bushmasters trigger is also easier to adjust since you can adjust it externally instead of taking your gun apart to do it. IT seems like everyone has been brainwashed that the angel is the ultimate creation. I would say that it as if it wasnt for the pricetag.

I'd get the Shocker. Got some reasons why..
a) It's soo old, and it's well know
b) LOTS of aftermarket parts
c) Not that expensive
But.. Here are the bads
a) LITTLE heavy (To some
b) The Shocker is no longer going to made after October 2001, they're releasing a new marker in 2003, so you should wait
And to the guy who said it had the bad trigger, have you ever shot one? Also, to those who think it's heavy, have you ever carried a double barrel 20 gauge shotgun around for 2+hrs at a time? It's kinda heavy. Well, the Shocker is a helluva lot lighter. So suck it up! ;) And if you want, you can get an awesome chip @ http://www.exarin.com Well, whatever you choose, you'll enjoy it, but I'd get the Shocker.... while I can.

Well, I heard it somewhere, but I know for sure that there's gonna be a new gun. It's coming out in 2003. Oh, now I remember. It's on #automags on DalNET chat. They said that the Shocker is no long er gonna be made after October 2001, and there's gonna be a new marker. I'll make a post JUST to make sure. But I DON'T want them to stop making the Shocker. It's SOOO cool (performance).

Shocker or Impulse...here is why
BEST reg = BEST consistency and BEST consistency = BEST accuracy.

If I were you I would really try all these guns out. I tried out a bunch of different guns before I bought my shocker. All guns have their strong points and there weak points.

i had the same problem as you.
i wanted to get either a shocker or a impulse or a bushmaster or a really really tricked rainmaker or a tribal or a ELCD frame for my mag.
i found a good deal on ebay and won the auction for 500 bucks including a insanity trigger mod, a double trigger frame, houge grips, 3 way adjustable trigger, 14" otp barrel with 3 inserts, benchmark cradle with guage, verticle max flo, 12" DYE aluminum, 20oz with anti siphon, 12vt pre brass eagle, turbo board, delrin bolt and much more
if you want a good deal on a shocker go here:

well i guess they fixed the side to side play on the new shockers or something because my shocker (see signiture) has absolutely no side to side play, shoots faster than a horse with rabies and is accurate as hell and about the heavy thing now i'm a soccer player so most of all my strength is in my legs i'm only like 5' 11" 150 pounds and the gun is simply not that heavy i mean if you have trouble carrying 3-4 large text books at a time maybe it would be heavy to you but.. to each there own....and i have the air assist and that thing is some wicked crazy s#*t it even shot balls when i was holding the gun upside down trying to dry fire and besides if you get a bushy you have to get nitro but with a shocker it all just ehhh i guess i'll just save a hundred or two and shoot co2 but i guess it's all just preference so get what you want.. and bye the way i guess the new shockers are slimmer and have better milling than the oldies cuz mine looks sweet ***
Its a little hard to recomend with so little info on what you want to do with the gun.
If you are buying a gun for turny play...
some things you may want to consider-
NPPL has basicly outlawed multi mode guns. while they are giving the manufactures time to offer new boards, this rule is on the books--and as recent as Chicago they have said that YES it will be enforced. This gives the Shocker and Impulse an advange
Pointability-- this will varry form person to person, but I will say based on a LOT of fokes shooting and handling these guns at out field, the Impulse is the most naturaly pointing of the guns. The busy is a ways back in second and the Shocker is 3rd. (for some resion I can't define, most new users will shoot much to low when "pointing" the bushy. this shouldn't be the case because it has the same 45 style grip frame.)
Service-- At almost all of the big turnys, you will see Smart Parts there doing free service on their guns. I have yet to see TECHS doing service for bushys--althought they often have sales guys there.
Simplicity-- The Impulse is a much simpler bun then the other two. It has only one reg and one 4 way. It was build form the ground up to be a low pressure gun. (normal operating pressure is about 180psi, but we run our Vision well UNDER 120 psi at the turnys)
Versitality-- both the Shocker and the Impulse come with the only pressure compsating reg in paint ball. this allows you to use N2 or CO2 without any additions. Unfourtahly the Shocker is a gas hog and requires much bigger tanks. Both the Impulse and bushy can be very efficent guns wirh set up right-- and importain feature if you carry 1000 or more paintball out on the field with you. The busy runs great on N2-- but is not supposed to run on CO2-- you can "force" it to run CO2 by using 2 regs.
ACE-- (anti Chop Eye) If you are doing big turnys--esp if you are a front man, the ACE can win the game for you. None of these guns are prone to chop paint-- whenyou are shooting with the gun held upright. But if your crawling up the snake and screwing your self into the knuckle tilting to gun to get an Implssible angle shot-- then the gun is not going to feed as fast--and a cuopped ball is a game ender. The Vision Impulse will save the game for you. Our Visions went all the way thru Gettysberg, Cypress, and Chicago-- and never chopped a ball.
Paint handeling-- when you shoot turnys, you want the lighest breaking paint you can use (no bounces) The Shocker has a clear cut advange here the Impulse with its low pressure is second the busy is third.
Rate of fire-- Rate of fire realy means nothing if you can't shoot the gun that fast. but the Impulse has the highest rate of fire of the bunch we have Visions that will hit 17 /pes sec without paint and over 14 WITH PAINT (remember the Vision won't chop!) the busy is 2nd with a dry fire rate of just over 13 whlie we can get them to feed paint at much over 12 excpt of 3 shot bursts. the Shocker sucks hind teat here while the new boards are capable of over 11.5, in pratice, you won't get an shocker to work 100% at much over 10.
Accuracy-- Out of the box the Shocker blows them away. But that is mostly because of its very fine AA barrel stock. the Impulse will be a close second. Out of the box, the bushy will realy take a dump because of its not so good stock barrel. Put a Freak on them, and there will be no pratical difference.
Trigger-- OK--I'll be first to admith the SP guns have very poor stock triggers as compared to other electros. The Busy is way ahead here-- but $30 later (trigger on the SP guns) and you have a dead heat at the top of the all time trigger list--morel--order your Impulse with the upgraded trigger installed!
Other titbits...
The Impulse has the new "twister" feed tube advaible for it. this is a feed tube that locks in the hopper-- this is a GREAT add on!
Dependign on the package, you can get an Impulse with a AA barrel stock or even upgrade to a FREAK-- this can save you some $$
In general the Impulse will be your best value. You can get into the gun for under $400 and can get into the VISION for only $550. The bushy is a little more and the shocker will normaly be a little more then that.
If you are not doing turnys... don't realy matter whic one you get-- all three are all the gun you will ever need. the multi mode (if it allowed at the places you play) is a lot of fun-- but you can get multi mode boards for both the impulse and shocker. The busy and impulse are lighter packages the Shocker is more quite and maybe just a hair more accurate.
