View Full Version : Will my guns cut it in local tournaments?

I am mainly meaning the cocker. I just bought a Crossfire 47ci 3000psi tank from Caleb; it should be here by Thursday since he's shipping it Priority today (Tuesday).

I'm mainly talking local Rookie\Young Guns events in Central Florida (Ocala and Tampa areas mostly). I will probably be getting the following upgrades once I get some more money:

Bob Long Torpedo Reg
Palmer's MicroRock LPR
Eclipse Nexus Ram with QEV's
Check-It Products Unimount
Shocktech BOMB 3-way
Hinge frame with Sticky 3 grips

Some kind of bolt too, but I'm not sure what that one will be. Any good suggestions? I've only got about $102 left after buying the tank, so I want to make the upgrades well worth the money I'll be spending on them, and I would greatly appreciate it if someone would put the upgrades in the order they would most benefit me.

Thanks guys!:D

What matters is waht the competition has and how good, and how good you are.

IMO, sell it and get an electro

I would sell it and get an electro, but I definitely wouldn't get much out of it. I'd be better off to wait until I'm 15, get a job at Winn Dixie, and save for a Matrix or Impulse. I'll be 15 in October so it won't be that long of a wait.

If you sold the cocker and Xtra, with the $102 you should have enough for a BKO. Its a very good electro with a nice price.

First things first, sell the Spyder. It serves no purpose.

You might even have enough for a few ups.

Sell the Spyder, save some money, and eblade the Cocker. An ebladed Cocker will serve you well at a tourney.

His cocker is right feed...

and therefore stupid to eblade it.

He could always get a new body:D
...I say upgrade the cocker with the money you have...play some tourneys...then when you get a job save up for a new gun(electro).

I was wondering when somone would say that.
Sell both and buy a BKO or an impulse with vision.

Or actually, you could buy a used GZ intimidator. You could probably get one off of pbnation, I know that I've seen at least 3 in the last 2 days. You can almost definately get it for about 550 if its stock.

The marker doesn't matter. It's the player. Don't worry about the marker keeping up in a tourney. Worry about YOU keeping up in a tourney.

NO JASTER YOU ARE WRONG.

It's all gun and no player. The gun shoots itself and has a small targeting module in its software! Duh, why do you think everybody uses electros!?

Or, if it's mech, well, then it's all the player.

Hey Six I thought you told me you were getting an Imp? and if you are thinking of local tournies the only good guns I have seen at Orbital were 03 Shockers (they broke the second game), Impulses (old people had them), & E-bladed cockers(everybody had them) You will be fine with your cocker if you play good with your teammates.

I do fine in tourneys with a mech mag. If you want to uprade, go for it. You'll do fine with a mech cocker in a rookie/young guns division.

Is there anything needed to make it perform better? I'm getting it timed hopefully soon (like this week or this weekend), that tank should be here Thurs... it's gonna shoot like a whole new marker.:)

You'd want to put the ups on before you got it timed, other wise you'll have to time it again.

I'd say buy either an anti-chop boly, or a ram, or 3-way.

I just wanna play with the gun! I bought it in February and shortly after it slipped out of time. I haven't timed it since or gotten it timed so it's been getting progressively worse.

*shakes head* Teuf when will you ever learn....?
Two rules...
1) Jaster is always right
2) if wrong, refer back to rule number 1

Is that so tough to remember? Kids these days.....
