I was woundering if it is worth paying for a barrel kit, or if a single bore barrel is just fine. I can afford both, but I am woundering if it is worth spending the extra money on a kit. Will a kit make a difference in accuracy?

open bolt = single bore barrel
closed bolt = barrel kit
The barrel kit will let you make paint to barrel matches very easily which isn't necessary on an open bolt. If you have an open bolt, get a .693 CP 1 Piece.

I know I'm going to be kicking a hornet's nest when I say this but....
I like kits. My accuracy and consistency, improved noticeably and my efficiency improved slightly with a good match. Now before everyone goes nuts... On both my timmys I've tested it out with a couple different kits and a couple single bored barrels. Now I also did this with my old spyder and saw little difference. The consistency was a bit better but nothing else changed enough for me to care.
Do with it what you will, but that's my $.02.

It's not that kits are pointless on open bolt markers, but that for most people they aren't worth the money.

so you don't think it would be overkill to put a barrel kit on a open bolt marker, exspecially if I am going to buy a closed bolt in the future?

I think it'd be overkill. The only barrel kit that would be easy to transfer is the scepter (and the freak, but that sucks) I'd get a nice single bored barrel. Maybe a CP 2 Piece, and then get backs if you get a new closed bolt gun.

Another insert barrel system worth getting- Equation Multi Switch Pro. But I would buy the Scepter.
CP 1-piece works great. Spend your money on other stuff for now (until you get close-bolt).

If you have the money for a kit, I would definatly go for that.
