How the hell can somone trash talk an angel????
I just dont understand it when people talk about these guns like they were made by brass eagle or something!!!
Oh yeah, i need to get this off my chest.
Yes I own an Angel LCD, and yes im only 18. But this gun cost me a summer vacation, and because of that a very nice relationship, so dont tell me that I DIDNT WORK FOR IT, OR DONT DESERVE THIS GUN. :pissed:
Now everyone that has ever told me that can go **** off

Most people just can't stand the fact that other people have better guns then they have ,they hate you even more if you younger or don't have experience but hell I'm 16 and and have an angel and I'll take ya 1on1 or better yet go get you team we'll skirmish...:P

They aren't bad guns.. just a lot of ppl think they are overrated because of all the hype they get and how much they cost.

What I find ironic is that paintball an American/Canadian born sport, has a paintball marker that is one of (if not) the best markers out there - and its made by a company in ENGLAND!! Well i feel proud - infact i know the guy that quality controls all the angels out there :D Lucky git.

I hear ya. I'm 16 also, and I'm working my *** off everyone weekend to earn enough money to buy myself a brand new C&C Angel. If someone wants to say I don't deserve it, they can go suck their head.

You ruined a relationship for a paintball gun? This is just my opinion but that is crazy. Angels are really nice markers but come on.

It was more because of the job. It paid really well and she just *****ed about not enough time with her, blah blah blah.

Just because people say they suck doesnt mean they suck. Today, "it sucks" means they didnt like it. Angels are pretty nice, I guess... I'm more of a Cocker person myself. I just thought i'd post in regard to that "not deserving the gun" stuff. I'm 16 and I, too wasted away a summer vacation (working in a warehouse) to buy my Eclipse. Well worth it, I'd say... but I hate people thinking my parents are rich or something.

I use to get mad at people that had better guns thn me so then I started buying everyones bad guns. I still didn't like having a gun that wasn't on par with the local team's guns. I'vetried justabut everyon that comesto the field that I ocassionally ref at. I love the angels and have become caugt iin te glory of having one. I remember going to one of my first tourneyswith a spyder and beiing afraid of the almight angel. Now I'm working on selling all my guns and in about 5 weeks I will be a proud owner of a Dark Angel. Now people will stop asking what kind of gun H have me trying to explain to them why I bought a ****ty shocker insteadof an Angel. Now I'll jus point to the shop wall and say "Nice isn't it"

This sport would be soooo much better if everyone got over who is using what and just enjoyed the game for the competition and the people. (actually at my field it is like that, but I have played at plenty that aren't)

In my experience (which I don't pretend to think is all encompassing) people don't get badmouthed about having a nice gun until they bad mouth someone else for having a less expensive marker. Is there even the remotest of possibilities that you may have been guilty of something like that?
Azrael
12-15-2001, 01:27 PM
I personally have never made fun of someone with a less expensive gun, unless it was a brass eagle but then it was only because they bought something from brass eagle. I do not judge people based on what they use since most guns are the same performance wise and its the player that determines how well its used.

I have one guy that keeps making fun of me. He is shooting a custom Black Majic. It's a really nice marker. He just doesn't like Angels. He has never shot one, just saw one of the local guys shoot it. The local guys barrel was black but it looked yellow because of all the broken paint. That is not really a mark that will leave your mind very quickly.
I own an LCD. They really are not my favorite marker. I like the Intimidator better. The Angels do rip it. I finally got my trigger dialed. Now I just have to figure out how to stop chopping paint.

If you check, my sig, you can tell that I'm no Angel fan. My brother plays for the ICD factory team, so if I thought anything good about Angels, Cockers, etc, I would get my *** kicked. Angels are PURTY compared to everything else though.

whatever....
people can trash talk an angel (and owner) all they want, but can't back it up.... with all these stupid little kids who think they know, when honestly they bs'n 90% of the time...
if your angel chops paint.... its human error.... not gun error.... stop dropping your angel on the ground, and also stop feeding your gun brass eagle paint!!!!

I am not bad mouthing Angels or Angel users. I am merely stating my experiences.
I am using RP Marbalizer paint in my Angel. I have my ROF set at 11. That should be slow enough. I hit 10 bps all the time but very rarely get to 11. It's not my paint or my hopper that is causing the broken paint. I use the right size barrel, I have my dwell at 14 and my LPR at 84psi. Now, can you honestly tell me that I am doing something wrong with this. I am a fairly aggressive player but I don't slam my gun into the ground.
I never had problems chopping paint with the Intimidator. I like the Angels. Honest. Remember, I own one. I will be using it as a back up for the timmy when I get it though.

Chopping in an Angel is not user error. You can't help a ball wants to half feed into the gun. It is however your fault if you jack the MROF up and don't use a agitated hopper.

I'm not buying into the HALO hype just yet. Until I see it being used in a game, not just a video of one firing at a target, then I will believe it. Let's not forget that the Evolution was supposed to be the end all be all loader....look what happened when that got used in real life.

Yes I have a halo and u can belive the hype I have my rate of fire set on 16 bps on my dark angel lcd and we shot over 1000 balls of old paint and did not ship or chop it is worth the money if there is anything you can buy in paintball for 150 dollars that is worth it this is it!
Why should anyone care if you got an angel? If I got a tippy and a bunker you it means Im better than you. Spending money on an angel is your choice anything that much is a waste of money unless you got the skill to back it up. If I meet you on the field and lose, I'll enjoy practicing for the next meeting. Gear doesn't matter, heart does.

Let's not start a little flame war on who can afford what and why.
It all comes down to personal preference. I own two Angels but can also say that I would NEVER buy an Angel at the price they are new. I have gotten two great deals and paid a fraction of their value to get both markers.

i am going to get an ir3 in 5 or so months, but my only problem with some angel owners i have also have with some cocker owners,i use a rainmaker, great gun i paid 150 for it,just as accurate as any other gun out ther, but they wanna flame me,and most say the rm hads a plastic grip frame or plastic this or that and it shows they have never used one

i myself don't really want to "buy into the hype" of an angel just yet because then i know people willl judge me before they even get to play with me and angels seem to scare all the new players at my local field and i really don't want to do that i personally own a pretty good EM1 and love it i have been with in seconds on buying an Angel but turned the offer down after paying a game with it because i feeel that i can do everything with my Em1 that i can do with a Angel. i am a player with 5 years under my belt at the age of 15 and have shoot almost every gun passed through the field gate and the few i did find i liked (e-mag,eclipse bushy, and a tight mag)where equal or lesser value to the angel and i found to my standards better (don't shoot me) than the angel. i personally believe in personally preferance and don't believe in bashing others for owning a brass eagel because i know how it feels i used to be there with my stingray but with the gun i managed to take out the angel, mag, autocockers, and all that and i feel if you can get out there and take that bashing then go out on the field and bend the others over your knee with a "suck" gun then you are ready to get up to the point of an awsome electro. so to make a long story short i don't plan on getting an angel "yet" (hahahahahahahahaha)
soon to come: ir3

I have a angel. And I like it was it worth the price that I paid for it yes and no. Yes it shoots a ton of paint but what gun dosent? Yes some people hate me because is about gear not skill. Yes it took a tippmann pro lite to give me my skill. No I shouldent have spent the money on it. But I worked for it. Can I have something better than yours? Were you the one working for it. I didnt think so. Will someone steal it from me? Maybe Maybe not. 100% of the time why stuff is stolen is because they put it down for a sec and its gone. Never put your angel in your car and leave it unattended or anyother paintballgear for that matter. Would I suggest a angel to someone. Yes and No. Yes because you deserve it. Yes because you worked at a gressey Mc Donnolds for a year and a half to get it. Yes because it pisses people off. No just for people to say no he is shooting at us at the paintball field. :goody:

Trash talk an Angel...why does such a thing occur?
Let me tell you. Newbies, in their newbie ways, start playing paintball in awe of the Angel. They see it at the field, in magazines, and online. Its bad. Its expensive. It shoots fast. They fear it.
Then one day they play someone with an Angel and beat them. They then get the assumption that Angels are crap, so they trash talk them with something like this hilarious line:
"Angels are for wussies who spray paint and have no skill. My Spyder with a boomstick and ELCD frame is just as good as an Angel, and 1/4 the price!"
After saying such things and being flamed and flamed and flamed by their peers, they shut up for a little while. Oh but it doesn't end there. One day they actually get the chance to play with an Angel. They love it. They want one. They wallow in their own hipocracy until they muster up enough money to buy an Angel.
See, no one really trash talks an Angel. They just use it as a temporary outlet for their insecurity.
Thank you, and god bless.

Well, first off, let me say I'm a Spyder user, but that means what I have to say will be surprising.
I am a BIG Angel fan. I would LOVE to have an Angel. Heck, I might kill for one depending on the person/Angel. I really like those Element Angels that warpedsportz has......beautiful things. They're awesome guns and they are simply gorgeous to look at. I've had the opprtunity to shoot a friend's Darky, and let me say I was quite impressed. However, the real advantage of the Angel comes not from the RoF or accuracy, but by the lack of kick, which helps give the Angel its accuracy. That's what you're paying for. That quite little click that you can barely feel as the gun recocks itself. Hence, the gun doesn't move in your hands and hence better accuracy.
As far as paying for an Angel? Even if I had the cash I wouldn't buy one. If I got sponsored, would I hvae my sponsor buy me one? Heck yeah. Would I use it over my Spyder with E-frame? Most of the time. But yet, I see where Angel users cut down us E-framesrs and E-framers are cutting down Angels......I'm somewhere in a more happy medium. By the time I finish my electronic Shutter I will have sunk over $800 into it. It will be low pressure, quiet, and accurate. But it will still have that little kick. But hey, I can live with that. Someday maybe I'll trad eit for an IMpulse, build the Impulse trade it for a Bushy, build the Bushy and keep trading up. Expensive? Yeah. I could just go out and buy an Angel and save some money, but then I wouldn't get the fun of building a gun. I love building my gun. It's half the fun of paintball.
I don't trash talk Angels. I love Angels. But I honestly can't see spending $1100 for a gun all at once. At least not until I make it big.....
The reason us Spyder users talk trash about your Angels is because we're jealous. The thing is, I'm not talking trash because I'm not jealous. At least not in the way you'd think. I admire your gun but I don't covet it. My Spyder puts up a good fight, and I'll readliy admit, you have me beat in a few areas, just like I actually have you beat in a few areas. Right now, my E-Shutter is set to 13 BPS and doesn't chop (turborev board and Vortex Impeller). I'll be recieving LP internals soon. And as much as I hate to say it, my gun still isn't as accurate as yours for one and only one reason. It has recoil. The Angel doesn't. Then again, my gun is $400 or so cheaper. Once I get the LP setup, my recoil will be minimized but stil present of compared to your Angel, will still buck like a 44 magnum. But it gets the job done. And I think a fully tricked Spyder is just as good as an Angel, but in different areas, namely price.
Now, please, let me know if I've missed anything. I personally feel accurcy isn't in shooting a cocker or Angel or Spyder, it's in paint/bore matching and recoil.
But at least we can all agree that Talons suck, right?

OMG, I CANNOT SAY MORE!!! I bought an 2k1 Fly just a couple months ago and I go out and play and everyone turns around and automaticly assumed I was some punk kid. Didn't matter that I've been coming to this field for over a year with a heavily (and fast) modded shocker?!!!? Screw em, I mean I sold my 69 Firebird, to buy a new car and I had money left over. I work alot to boot!!! ....sorry had to vent pisses me off to.

I was wondering since I have my confirmation coming up and crap should a buy an angel with the money i get(ill problably get 3000 but only use 1700 for the gun and extras). Dont worry about them....just smile and wave at them as you plaster their faces with paint as they feebly fling paint back at you with their spyders ( nothing agains spyders but they dont just cant shoot as well as Angels and Cockers ). No you should not get an Angel. Why?? because you have only been playing for 6 months. How do you know you are even going to stick with it?? Dropping that kinda of money when you are young and new to something is not smart IMO. If you NEED a better marker, get something in the middle of the road like an Impulse or BM2K. Then if you are still playing in a year and need to upgrade, go for it!
Another thing is that you should research any paintball marker BEFORE you buy it. Before I had my first Angel I knew how to fix many of the problems I might encounter. This way I am NOT a newbie but an experienced player.
I don't care how old a person is or what marker a person uses, but I can't stand when someone (any age) has to ask me How do I adjust the velocity?? or my favorite How do I turn it on?

Good call! Get the angel! Hey EM1, Dude basicly I bought a bunch of expensive stuff before I turned 18 just because, I knew I could afford it before I started paying taxes, moved out blah blah blah. Let me tell you what else I have: I restored and raced a 1969 Firebird 400 (which I just sold for 16k), raced and built another firebird, sold, I own 16 guitars, the cheapest is 500 bucks, the most expensive is 2400 bucks, the rarest is worth quite a bit more but I got it for cheap:) Angel, Shocker and some other toys. So trust me I know the feeling. Ohh I have the most expensive thing of all, a GIRLFRIEND!

Do i talk down the angel yes actually hell yes! Is it trash talk? not is my book, trash talk is talking bad about something which dose not deserve it. I have played with angels they are FAST FAST FAST! They are also very expensive and imho not worth the $$$ I would get either a shocker or an excal first I have shot them both feel better then an angel. They are MUCH more accurate, quieter and run on lower pressure out of the box. If i want a faster gun then the excal or shocker then i vote E-mag. I will never say that the angel is not a good gun, but if i said there were not better guns i'd be lying.

I have put one next to an X board rev with half dead batteries. We filled the loaders up with one pod of paint each. Not exact numbers but within 3 balls. We did it several times in each configuration, one 9 volt or 6 AA batteries. The halo did feed faster consistantly. Not by much though. I want to ttry this with fresh batteries in both. For a half second, it's not worth twice the price, in my opinion.

I personally own an Autococker... I am 15 and i worked for every penny of that customed sucker. I think bashing any gun (excluding ones made of more than 35% plastic) is not appropriate since the owner has one reason or another for buying it. I am impressed by the Angels and I didn't know they were made in England. Angels are awesome markers and when I have a better job that can support 2 Angels (my girlfriend included) I will most likly pick one up. But if someone is flamin on an Angel, I give you full permission to disconnect your tank and club them with it.

I was just kiddin around. It's not really the gun that people hate but when people with them act like EVERYTHING else sucks. Thats Preety Much The Main reason that i don't like a BUNCHA guns. When people with Things Like Impulses and **** Come Onto the Kingman forum and say that Spyders suck get an Impy. Thats all i really care about. Guns Like Even Piranahs G3s can be good if the owners wants it to be so.

Oh no not this again. This has been argued over and over again.
Brass eagle had no hand in any design or manufacture of the Angel. As most people know brass eagle is one of if not the largest paintball company out there. They bought vl and i think own part of jt not sure though, and make every thing needed for playing the game from paint to i guess you could call it a marker but i really think of their guns as paperweights and not even good paper weights at that.
Anyways wdp is based in england and when they first started they needed a distributer so they chose b.e. since it is a very large company with a very large market share. So in the us brass eagle was the distributor of the angel at first and marketed it to the U.S. but they DID NOT DESIGN OR MANUFACTURE THE ANGEL. They were only the distributor.
This happens all the time in business. People distribute the product of another company and slap their name on it. Cd Roms are and excellent example. Even though you have a cd rom drive that says sony on it, most likely mitsumi or nec manufactured and designed it. Cars have stuff like this all the time. If you have to replace something on a car you go ask for the thing as part number xxx-xxx-xx and it says toyota or ford or honda oem. But in reality some other company made it and that car company slaped their name on it.
