Hi:

I am a new player to paintball, i hope you can answer some questions i that i have.

******* What pump gun should i get. ******** I heard CCI phantom is very good. Also the WGP SNIPPER 2 is good too. My Budget is up to $ 275.

Does pump guns run on CO2 tanks or CO2 grams canisters. Is there any pump guns run on CO2 tanks How much for the CO2 canisters.

One last question guys.

********* IS A PUMP GUN OK FOR PLAYING IN A INDOOR ARENA 50000 sq feet ************

. The place i am playing is a 50000 sq ft building. Inside there is buildings ( 2 story shells there is a door and windows ) , overturned cars, A small plane and two story framed buildings. IT is designed to look like a CITY UNDER SEIGE. THis is a abandoned Movie Theatre, Shopping mall, stores ETC and appears to have lots of room to move judging by the pictures Sand is the surface on the ground. ******* We PLAY CAPTURE THE FLAG aND DEFEND THE BASE ETC ******* It is WALKON all the time and i will be playing vs SEMIS and automatics;)

Get the CCI phantom if you are on a budget of 275. You can easily have some money left over if you go Phantom. If your going Sniper II your probably gonna need more money to just make it equal to the phantom. That is just in my opinion however.

The phantom can run off either c02 tanks or the little c02 12 grams (I guess thats what you mean by "canisters") You just have to buy the right configuration. www.phantomonline.com go right to them. That is the best place to buy your stuff. If you call them you can ask them questions and they can build your gun to your preference.

As for the where to play. Pump play is good for ANYWHERE. Speedball, woods, you name it. I've played on all of them. It might take a while to get good with a pump but stick with it and don't be discouraged. Rely on tactics and not firepower. Good luck and have fun. :)

I don't know that I agree. I know the Phantom is a great marker... but man... have you PUMPED a Sniper II? I may sound like a maniac (or worse), but that's the best feeling in paintball, just the action on a Sniper II. It has an _underbarrel_ mechanism, not on barrel like a Phantom or Sniper III. I want a Sniper II just for that alone, it's so... cool.

In other words, as far a value, accuracy, etc etc, trust the other guys, but don't decide until you have tried the Sniper II. Gah, if I had one I'd kick down doors and assault bunkers like no tomorrow, just for that 12 guage shotgun feel. I just can't stand on-barrel pump mechanisms I guess!

Avery:

The Phantom is also under-cocking.;) Just thought I'd let you know..........

no the phantom doesn't have undercocking unless you got some kind of custom job. The pump part is on the barrel

phantoms are undercockers, just not under-barrel pump like the sniper 2.. the pump rod is under the barrel... other nelsons often have the pump rods or arms on the sides of the barrel...
the only advantage I can think of is the lack of open holes to dust, dirt, sand, or paint...

exactly, i don't like the way that the phantoms under cocking arm smashes into the grip frame, i have already needed to sand taht down so the breech would settle correctly on the grip frame:rolleyes:

Sorry, what I meant to say was that the Sniper II has a handle that is underneath the barrel (like a real shotgun) as opposed to the handle being on the barrel (like most other markers). The metal rod that cocks the Sniper II goes along the side, not the bottom - just in case you're interested. The only other marker that I have seen with a cocking handle below the barrel is the PGP and PGP II pistol(s).

just turn the pump and locking nut out a few turns to keep the nut from smacking the lower reciever of the gun

ave- well, and anyone else in need of more information :D pretty much ALL of the sheridan derived pumps have the lower pump/side arm thing going on. So that also includes palmer's guns, and any number of old school pumps

yes, the sniper is built like a PGP ^_^ ...essentially...

some older sterlings have under barrel pumps... also pump mags, nightmares, sheridans, and palmers.

if you get a phantom you can shoot it out of the box, with a sniper you are going to want an aftermarket barrel. the sniper is definitely heavier, but this is a problem for some and a feature for others. that in mind, my advice is to try both... and see which feels more comfortable to you.

I say go with the sniper two... Its basicly a pump autococker. Really upgradable.
