View Full Version : Will I be having problems?

I have a tourney to go to this Saturday, but the only hopper I can use is a Ricochet AK! I know I need a good, fast hopper, but I can't get one right now. Will I be ok with my Rico for now, or will I chop a lot?

make sure you re-enforce your detents.

Could you tell me/give me a link on how to do the macroline thing?

It is on patrick lee's website, but I forget the site.

What you do is unscrew your detent cover.
Take the o-ring out of the slot.
Put a piece of o-ring in it so it slides right through the hole.
Cut the piece of macroline so no sides of macroline stick out.
Put the o-ring with macroline inside of it back into the detent slot.
Screw the detent cover back in, and your all set to not double feed!

Sorry, but uhh... I didn't really understand that. Does Patrick Lee's site have pics? Pics would be a great help.

dont worry bout it no need to reinforce your detents with an egg, that mod is primarily only used for halo b's. The egg doesnt put enough pressure on the stack after the first couple of shots

OK, Phew! *wipes forehead*.. But the problem is, I may not even be able to use an egg. What sort of problems would I run into with a rico? Should I expect lots of chops?

I used a revy on my bko for a while and it sucked....but here's what you can do...make your trigger pull with a lot of back slack and stiffen it up. That will reduce bounce to a minimum, and therefore slow down you ROF, it should reduce chopping. Good luck....and try not to walk...walking with an aggy loader = soup in the feedneck.

Damn, lol... As far as I know, I can hit over 12bps... And the feed rate of a rico is 12... Poo.

Thanks for the tip. Oh BTW, what's the top screw on the trigger do? Every time I mess with that I just end up messing something up and it wont shoot...

it's the micro switch adjustment....basically..it adjusts where the trigger hits the switch in the pull.

Hmmmm I see... So If I put the screw in further, the switch will activate further into the pull, and vice versa?

no its the other way around. backing the screw out makes it activate farther into the pull

Backing out the top screw makes the switch activate further into the pull. Screwing it in makes the switch activate at the beggining of the pull. Just dont adjust the screw to far in, otherwise it could damage the microswitch. Also, if you have it to far in, the microswitch would be pushed in constantly and the gun would not shoot.

When I first got my B2K3 the only 2 hoppers I had were a VL200 (mad speed!) and a Richochet AK (the really crappy one without an eye). I walked out on the field and shot my gun for the first time and.......chopped. I couldn't fire more than 5 shots without chopping. Keep in mind that I was slow as crap back then because I was used to shooting a Tippmann.

If you dont walk the trigger, but instead pull the trigger with only one finger, then I doubt you will chop, but you still might want to keep your Straight Shot handy. Also adjust the trigger so that it doesnt get ANY bounce.

Bottom line: If at all possible, find a faster hopper to use. Even if it's only a Revy, it will still be better than the AK. Call up everyone you know who has either an X-Board Revy (which would still be too slow), a Halo, or an Egg and beg them to let you use it. If it gets down to the wire and you still dont have a fast hopper, try selling as much of your blood and sperm as possible, it might be enough to buy a new Egg.

to go more on what lotus said if u want to try and slow your pull down, lenghten your trigger pull and have it activate bout 3/4's through your pull, this should eliminate most bounce and restrict u a bit with your happy fingers on the bko

hey, dont worry about shooting fast. After all, it's accuracy that really counts, right?

That's what I did, I made tuhe pull pretty big, and made it more stiff, and I also made it activate the switch deeper into the pull. Hopefully this will help, or I'm screwed until I pick up a nice hopper (hopefully I can sell my Mag soon, then I'll buy new gear AND a Halo B).

all icd boards are made so bouncing is almost impossible. just use 1 finger and avoid streams. snapshoot
