Hi,

A friend of mine recently got a chrono, (we are playing outlaw so to speak) and want to make sure that we are all nice and safe.

We have pretty much decided that we should all be shooting around 280 - 285 but while we were chronoing, I found that if my first shot was 280 but then fired say 10 shots it would drop down to 260 or lower. Even if I waited another 10 minutes and fired another shot, it was still in the 260 area.

Is this normal?? I always thought that they should remain kind of consistent. I have a x-chamber and am running a remote. My friends gun did the same thing also.

We were using 9oz tanks since our 20's aren't filled yet. Does that make a difference??

Does nitro behave differently??

Nitro is MUCH more consistant because it has it's own regulator (but that won't help if you have an x-cham after the reg). What kind of Chrono is it? Also, do you have your tanks screwed ALL the way in?

I honestly don't know what kind of chrono it was. It was the kind that you set up 10ft away and shoot through the arms that are standing up.

Yes the tank was in all the way. We did this on three different guns. Same result.

Hmmmm..... next time you go out, shoot until you get a constant velocity range (like persay 260) and adjust your Velo settings to get it to 280. Shoot a few more rounds (some in bursts and some wait a few minutes) and if it stays in the same general area, then I'd say it's cool. Perhaps the chrono just needed breaking in.

My understanding is that's just plain dangerous.

Well if hes running nitro through his gun then have the x chamber after the reg it won't really make a difference, now will it?

RY_GOODY: I said that.

Price: You have just deemed yourself an unsafe player. There are REASONS why there are limits. Remind me NOT to play against you.

The first shot is never right to get a true reading is shooting about 3 shots but when I get my shift in the chrono range I don't let them go unless they fire 5 or more shots. 3 is just not enough.
I usually get a good reading after 5 or more. Remember the first shot is usually never right. Shoot 5 or more times and make sure you are lower than or at 280 and you are good.
