What are the advantages to a rear cocking bolt?
can you just buy a rear cocking bolt and install it in a standard spyder?(side cocking)

Yeah most guns have rear cocking bolts available. I don't see any real advantage to it. My opinion though

yes..at least for most guns, the point of rear cocking is to get rid of the side cocking. So yes, you can install rear cocking into a "non rear cocking" gun.

well it seems to me there must be some advantage to it otherwise why have all the higher end guns have em and the lower end guns not?

well anyway, my next question is can you get a beavertail for any gun?

you can buy any aftermarket beaver tail for the spyder and it fits the exact place as the one on your piranha. check with paintballgear.com or 888paintball

The powerfeed would get in the way of the beavertail site.

Well, one thing is for sure, if you play tight into bunkers, you don't have to worry about the sidecocking pin slamming into the side of the bunker. Although with rearcocking, you do have to watch how close your mask is to your gun. If ya don't bybye lense. The beavertail helps prevent those accidents on RC though.

well i have a powerfeed so i dont usually have my gun that close to my face, i usually just shoot by barrel direction, but i will still want a beavertail just in case
