I would like to ask if a Tippmann Custom 98 with whatever modification/upgrades can beat an Angel Electro with upgrades?
Thanks...

Unfortunately nothing can compare to the Angel when it comes to speedball and fast shooting, however for the monies you can get a tippmann decked out with the auto trigger all the goodies and still be half the price of the Angel, and we all know that the Tippmann is far more durable and reliable than almost any gun out there. so to answer your question, i almost bought the Angel, and needless to say i ended up wit a completely tricked out Tippmann Custom 98 silver. I have been happy ever since.

Sitting on the table, I'd say a 98c would beat an Angel. The 98c is heavier, and has less breakable parts, so I think the 98 would wollop some Angel, crack it's LCD, then trash the pretty anodizing.
Oh! You meant, like, in the hands of a player? Okay, well, let's see. An Angel is a far superior gun by most measures, but at 300 feet away the 98 with a flatline wins. What's that? The guy with an Angel rushes, and shoots you 47 times? Well, let's see then....
What a silly question! ;)

That is one of the greatest comments I have seen in a while. Nothing can compare to an angel. We love our tippmann's, but we have to understand when we might be pushing it.

i am a moderatly experianced player i can take out most people at the local field with the following marker
m98
custom drop
12" J&J ceramic
trigger job
nothing much just very simple i play agaisnt angels, black magic cockers, other cockers, spyders, and Misc.
week after week i take the angels and cockers
sure they can lay paint but i cna bunker them and run around on them and they never see me coming
it isnt the gun its the player

Laying side by side, without looking at the player. The angel will perform better than the Tippmann. There is nothing you can do to prove this otherwise.

i agree with u it's not the gun its the skill of the player, however like some people here said u can't compare anything [in fast fireing/speedball] to an angel i am from team ANGEL KILLERS. We didn't name it that bcuz we like 2 pick off guys with angels first it's bcuz were little devils:badboy:. Well any one can beat any one in paintball from a stingray to a E- LCD angel cobra series. Its just the skill of the player, just the skill. U can do anything if u put your mind and heart to it to it.
KEEP ON PLAYING!!!!!!!!:freak:

this thread is lame, comparing an angel to a blowback . . . thats like comparing a nissan to a bugatti . . . Correct me if im wrong but an angel is nothing but a tricked out spyder, I mean in how it functions, I've read on a site about how certain guns function and to sum it up the only original guns are mags and cockers, mags being open bolt blow forward and cockers being closed bolt blow backs. Ill post the site if I find it.

Really, what is so bad about the design of a blowback?
Correct me if im wrong but an angel is nothing but a tricked out spyder, I mean in how it functions,
Pretty much, except that the angels striker is controlled via a pneumatic 14way instead of with a spring/blowback. This allows for the adjustment of dwell time and such. Other than that they do operate in the same fasion.
original guns are mags and cockers
To a point, the original angel was original because it was the first open bolt, striker/bolt connected electro.
mags being open bolt blow forward
Yup
cockers being closed bolt blow backs.
The closed bolt part is right, however they are not blown back. That is why they are called autocockers they use the three way to cock the ram/cycle a new ball into the chamber. Not left over gas from the previous shot. Hope that helps.
Oh, and just to let you all know, pretty much any electro can keep up with an angel during speedball. Hell blowback with an electro gripframe can. Just look at Bad Company placing fourth in the WC using upgraded electro spyders.

i agree completely that a tippmann is like a bugatti and an angel is more like a nissan
for example a tippmann has stood the test of time and is a classic. its dependable and maintainable. thus its like a bugatti
also an angel is an electronic piece of crap that will fall appart like a nissan
althought i agree with this i would say a tippmann is more like a chevy truck
cheap, maintainable, and would crush a nissan in the event of them meating
