well...it depends. if you are the occasional baller then no you dont need one but if you play in tournies and go every week then you probably need a new barrel

umm well, you can hit a cinderblock flawlessly from about no more than 20 feet away, after that you need to arch your shots and still no guarantee youll hit it.
