hey all,
seriously, how reliable are the CP barrels' quality control? is it true that the 2 pce Pro barrels sometimes come out mis-aligned ??? please share any horror stories with me so that i can avoid some unneeded PAIN from buying a CP pro barrel and getting ganked.
thanks

hey july,
thanks for the help! so all of the 17 pieces that you have are fors for the CP pro barrels system, and the all fit nicely?? how accurate is the CP 2 pce barrel, cuz everyone's telling me, "naw, get the dye boomstick instead..." i'm trying to find an alternative to the dye, know what i mean??

Dye Boomy is nice, but its not a TRUE two peice, and is not wortht he $100. I love the CP barrel system (yes, I've used it) and had no problems. But if you really hate CP, get the JT system (have to get it cocker threaded though), both are good, IMO. Everyone likes the freak, but I think CP and JT are better.

thanks for the imput. the reason why i'm looking into CP barrels is because I have a silver Bushy, and the lady at CP told me that CP pro barrels can come in a nice, matte silver. So the looks (IMO) is good, so i'm now gathering imput on CP's performance. I hear a lot of good stuff about CP, and I've used Dye barrels too much in the past years. Honestly, i think boomsticks are a bit too heavy for a barrel, and it's not "the best" in performance, though they are very nice.
i think i'll go with CP. thanks!

the company that makes CP stuff has been making aerospace
stuff for years, the paintball stuff is made on machines that cost millions and that are extemely percise,i have had sevral cp barrels
and had no problems, alot of people seem to think that because cp
cost less that there junk,it's just because they dont have the overhead that a company like dye has.
cheers

I like CP better than the Freak set.
Only because i like CP on my low pressures gun.. it has some porting but not as much as the freak so it will be more efficient than the freak but will also have a nice balance in quietness.
CP also looks better IMO. I like the chrome alluminum back. I like the shape of CP too, it looks very nice and the muzzle is cool looking also. Very sleek.
I'm sure that the CP and Freak both shoot the same precision wise.. just one has inserts and one has back control bore pieces.. and one will be more quieter and one will be more efficient :)
I still haven't come up w/ my opinions on Back Control Bores vs. Inserts :D

hey!
thanks for the imput in helping me NOT get ganked by a bad barrel choice. So you're saying that the freak system isn't as efficient as the CP system, but then the CP isn't AS quiet as the freak? do i understand you correctly?
so, is the CP MUCH louder than, say, a boomstick?
thanks man!

No no no CP isn't loud at all. But it has less porting than the freak, so the freak may be quieter. But there isn't a real difference that i've noticed
CP all the way!!

i'm talking about the 2 pce barrel, not the barrel set, though. If you're asking about the one barrel cost, then it's 80 bucks direct from CP. customproducts-az.com

I'm not sure about 2piece.. 1pieces are sold everywhere, but 2 pieces might take some looking around.
you could email cp and ask them what companies they deal their 2piece barrels to :eyes:

ic!
it's just that there are some people who say, "well, CP makes yo-yo's, so that tells you what they know about paintball barrels."
I think, from what i've heard so far, that they're good barrels.

I love CP barrels, and my friends just roll their eyes when I try to tell them not to spend tons of money on a freak system or boomstick. For the 40$ I paid for mine...the performance is great! Plus they look really cool and are extremely light!

yeah i know what you mean. Now you know why i'm asking you guys about the cP barrels. it seems that if you have a boomstick, you feel obligated to see it as the best barrel in the business, very likely due to #3 of the list below.
I have a boomstick, and i can say from experience that they are:
1) very quiet
2) very accurate with the right balls
3) very expensive
4) because of #3, it instills guilt as well after you buy it
5) a bit too heavy for a barrel

Hehe, I bought one of their yoyos before I got into paintball. They make good yoyos too.
