Dwell question

Hey guys i just got my Imp yesterday and i have been reading about setting the dwell in the stickys and stuff but do i have to have a chrono to set it?? If not could you plz walk me through it without using a chrono? Thanks a lot!

just wait till you get to the field that day. I got mine this week 2 and I tried to set it but I had better luck at the fields crony

since you don't have an lpr, go to the chrono station (and you do need a chrono to properly set you dwell), make sure your input is at 180psi (since you don't have any sort of solenoid optimizer like a tapeworm), then adjust you dwell until your gun shoots 280fps over the chrono (there are two dwell buttons on the right side of the gun, to adjust them you need something thin enough to fit inside the dwell covers, like a toothpick, bent paper clip, or a .050 standard allen wrench. the one on the right increases the dwell, and the one on the left decreases it). i have a little pop quiz for you nighthawkpb, can you tell me what the dwell is, and what changing it does (how it does what it does, not just what the end result is)? that was only for nighthawkpb, no one else is allowed to answer it-if you do i will find you, shave my leg hair off, and make you eat it...

Isnt dwell the ammount of time the bolt or something stays open and takes gas or something?? The better your dwell is set the more efficency you get?? I am pretty new with this stuff...

I guess you missed this part of ToothPasteDogs thread in the ULTIMATE STICKEY than huh? ;)

4) Then the solenoid (after a set amount of time, normally around 10 milliseconds depending on what the dwell (dwell=how long the hammer holds the main valve open=how much air is put behind the paintball=fps) is set at, shoots a burst of air to an air cavity in front of the ram and the hammer is pull back from the main valve (which closes due to a spring which forces it close) and also pulls the bolt back at the same time which lets another ball fall into the breach ready to be fired.
