Hey guys, new to the forums here....Not new to the sport...But anyway, I have a Tippmann Model 98 that has pretty much all things possible done to it, and I wanted a new project so I bought an A-5, Ive been out of the hobby for a long time and I'm pretty unfamiliar with whats goin on, so I'm gonna need some help, cause I'm tryin to make a "comeback" with a new gun, if ya wanna call it that.

Well anyway, I'm done with the m98 and I'm lookin to upgrade my A-5, heres what I've got so far:

-12" J&J Ceramic Barrel
-DOP On/Off Drop Forward
-3000psi 68ci Crossfire Nitrogen Tank
-Double Trigger
-Front Grip

Sorry, not too familiar with the brands yet, I know everything on my m98, but I bought the a-5 off my brother, he never had the chance to use it, so hes gettin out of the sport and I took the A-5 off his hands, but thats pretty much everything on it, a few of those upgrades were taken off my m98 but its ok, the m98 is for sale now.

Future Plans:

-Response Trigger
-J&J .45 Aluminum Trigger Frame
-Aluminum Internals (DOP?)

Well thats pretty much it, anything else I can do to it? I keep hearing about Low Pressure Kits, dont know exactly what the deal is with em, im guessin more air efficient (more shots out of your tank), cant really get an expansion chamber, runnin nitro...anything else guys? sorry for the long post, any help would be highly appreciated...thanks in adavance

*oh yeah, I've been hearing a lot about Reg's...Dont know too much about em, I've always thought that Expansion Chambers were kinda the same in a way...Like the Reg is built into the Expansion Chamber, but I guess I'm wrong...Theres also Female and Male Regs? Dont know the difference or anything...But I'm pretty sure thats for Co2 use only? Well at least Expansion Chambers...Sorry for all the confusion...

Welcome to the forums.

Look at the stickies at the top of the page, and do a search. That should give you your answer.

herrrs wut i would do.
12" CP one piece, largest bore you can find.
thats already a good drop
id spend the extra cash for the 4.5K
get the GTA double trigger, it fits much better than most other aftermarkets
instead of getting a front grip, id get a reg, or expansion chamber if you cant afford a nice reg that mouns right into your VA, makes a very nice front grip
DO NOT GET THE RT, get the E-grip, it costs maby, 40.00 more and it is tourny legal.

Like the others said you could just look at the Ulitimate Sticky at the top of the "Tippmann Forum" you can't miss it.

Or if you really want to get a sick looking A-5 you could just follow what I've done to mine, links and list in my signature.

Good choice of marker but if you do another "R/T vs E-Grip" thread we'll all commit suicide.

Searching is your friend in here, people really hate to repeat themselves more than 10 times.

Welcome back.

LOL thanks guys, wasnt really tryin to start another war, I've seen what happened...Sorry about that, thanks for not bashing me like Ive seen, lol....but I've searched around though, just wanted an opinion, cause all the Sticky did was list upgrades, got me more confused lol but it did help. Dont want you guys to think I'm another moron that didnt read the rules, I've been part of this forum before, looooong time ago lol...

Oh yeah with the entire "E-Grip vs. R/T" deal, I've already decided on that, I'm a fan of the R/T, I dont like dealing with dead batteries lol, I dont really go to many fields, once in a while, or tournaments...The reason for that is my friends and I have made our own speedball field which came out great, and theres woods surrounding it so we can do both, its free, and nobody bothers us.

The reason why I was asking about the Low Pressure Kit or a Reg was because I already decided on the R/T, and I'm runnin Nitrogen, and I know the R/T uses air to run it...Oh yeah one more thing, is there any way of putting a Low Pressure Kit or a Reg where the front grip is and not between the trigger and grip? Putting it there would kinda get in the way, I probably sound like an idiot right now, but I've grown used to the setup on my 98, so I'm lookin for Comfort and Looks along with performance...Thanks for your help!

Wow, Greedy, your Sig really really did help, thanks! Well, I'm about to spend more money than I was expecting, but its gonna make my gun look sick like ya said. Those scull grips really fit on the J&J Frame? Nice, wonder if they're comfortable? Almost bought the Scull Front Griop because it was sick, but I do want performance lol not all looks...But that question is still in my mind, will the Reg help me with Nitrogen? or should I go with a Low Pressure, but I will search, I just thought a Reg was along the same lines as an Expansion Chamber...Anyway, any help is highly appreciated, thanks again everybody, Greedy, if ya have any pics of your A-5 I'd be interested in seeing them. Thanks!

No more than 5 mins, depending no how much trouble you have with the tiny screws.

You can get it at almost any online Paintball Site and most proshops carry them. IF you plan on getting an E-grip be sure you get a GTA, genuine tippmann accessory, one. Not an aftermarket ones, they don't get along.
