Wierd... I get TERRIBLE first shot drop off...

198, 260, 262, 259, 263 (then its tight).

It seems to happen often enough, that in tourneys I find myself having to take a shot early just so the money shot has the right speed on the ball. It's rather annoying. My bolt is looking pretty rough, would that do it? Time for a new LPR? (using stock jobby I had to fix).

Then, I have HUGE blowback. Man, this last weekend, I was using a gravity fed hopper. When I'd shoot, all the ball in the hopper would move like one of those kids toy "lawn mower" thingys with the balls popping all over!!!!

I knew that was bad, but I had some bad paint too (brittle), and it just compounded the problem then. I think with real good paint, I just don't notice it, especially with my Halo B on, but with this gravity hopper and crappy paint, my gun was just down all day (On my Birthday too :( ). (paint jammed up my Halo Doh!)

I think if I clean it up and lube the LPR again good, it will be ok, but I've been having to lube that like every 1/2 day I play with it. And, my stock bolt is getting scratched from God knows what (persoally I don't like delrin bolts I'm finding, too much hassle... my stock spyder bolt has performed for 3 years with just a little wear and NO problems like swelling or sticking or anything).

So, I finally think instead of sinking ANOTHER $200 into the gun by the time I add an LPR, ASA Block, New Bolt, and shipping and tax... I'm just getting a new gun to add my Halo B and $200 tank onto and leaving it at that.

thats the great thing about a Halo B is it will act and do the job just like the vapor bolt and prevent blowback since its putting constant pressure on the stack. The FSDO problem does seem to be a bit out of the norm but does happen every once in awhile. If you are lubing that frequently then i would take your lpr apart and look for any kind of scratches or to make sure nothing is fitting too tight. It may just be a matter of polishing or sanding something down to eliminate it. Most of your issues should be resolveable without dropping more cash on the BKO. The bolts shouldn't get beat but can usually take it, if you are interested in a new bolt or atleast one that isnt scratched up (all 3 of mine are in perfect order with 10,000+ cycles on em) drop me a PM and I will see what i can do. I would check your bolt area and make sure you have a nice smooth surface and no sharp points etc in the metal.

Awesome tips Yoda... But I'm really anxious to go get a new gun!!! LOLOL hahaha

Really though, that will help a lot. You know, I think the black o-rings are a little too big on the LPR plunger and dont leave enough room for movement. I'm going to try and lube it up good again and rechrono with my new pocket chrono (want to try that out anyway). I think maybe a good cleaning and some better paint would fix my problem.

The bolt is OK on the part that matters, but the back end that is exposed where the pin goes in is getting basically shredded up. I don't know whats going on, I just noticed it like a few games back. I think I'll check the breech and make sure it is smooth, and then maybe do a little light work on my bolt (have some great 600 grade sandpaper from my saxophone reeds hehe). I'll try and take care of it and see if that helps, and maybe lube it up good with white lythium grease to see if that helps the blow back issues. I've been using Silicone spray, but I don't think it works as good.

Even if I get a new marker, I'd like this one to work for a SOLID backup for me and my team, or so I can sell it knowing it isn't problematic!

Thanks agian!

Just curious, what gun are you looking at getting?

thats kinda weird with your bolt. Make sure there isnt ANY dirt in your gun. Just having a few grains of dirt in there rubbing against the bolt during each shot can take its toll on the bolt, considering how fast you are probly shooting.

First, I've already given in and ordered a new I.C.E. "Epic" Marker (review on this website you can search for).
http://www.icepaintball.com/news.htm

It doesnt use any bolt to move the ball, strictly air like a blow gun, and has a really low profile. I'll miss my clamping feed neck and electro trigger, but this gun just looks unique and light and supposedly quiet (probably depending on barrel), has auto cocker threads... So, I ordered it

Anyway, I took apart my BKO friday night, and lubed up the bolt good with white lythium grease. Also, I relubed my LPR well, and just gave it a good cleaning. I took it (with some of the same cheap paint that gave me problems on Saturday), and took it to my pop's house in the woods, and opened up on some logs.

It shot really awesome. I did see my bolt was getting worn on the BACK of it prior to this, but not on the front at all where it mattered most. I worked on the trigger pull to really tweak it (I normally shoot at MOST 8-10 balls per second)... and it is sitting pretty awesome, and I could put a tissue on the top of the marker and it didn't fly off, but I WAS running out of air practicing with it. I think the first shot drop down and the blow back might be gone entirely. That means it is probably just the bolt :o

We shot through about 700 rounds with no ball chops and really killer accuracy and no first shot dropdown. I think just lubing the bolt made the difference. I also notice my bolt is still a little hard getting it at first (ok once in position), so I think it could use some more sanding after my first swelling problem last fall.

I was actually impressed with my BKO again after today. I'm going to keep it for my bro or my friend to use in tourneys either late this year or early next year (I'm going to try and get them to join the team and play in a 3m with me. They are VERY good and smart players).
