Its all up to your friends decision in the long run, but a BKO is a lot better then an a5.

Stick with the BKO. You can only get so far with an A5, even with $150 worth of upgrade money, but you can upgrade a BKO so much that you may never need another gun. Tell him to keep his BKO.

Depends on the year, condition, specs of the BKO.

yeah but even if the bko was in poor enough condition to warrant getting rid of it for an a5....wouldn't you rather just take cash for it? I mean...what's he gonna do with an a5? I would either keep the bko...or sell it and buy something else nicer with the money...never downgrade in marker quality, thats just dumb

Personally, I'd take a stock BKO over a Freaked A-5E with RT and ebolt, but that's me. Heheh. ICD>Tippmann. Tippmann makes guns that require certain conditions to take advantage off, design-wise.

Art You cannot get an E-Bolt for an A-5, that is specifically for the Model 98, however, you can get an E-Grip for the A-5. Besides, you can't use an E-Grip/E-Bolt and RT simultaneously for either the A-5 or Model 98.

You can't have RT and e-bolt, I just realized that. :-[

Aww... I thought you were back for good gomster... Poo.
Anyways, I say BKO. I've owned both (A5 w/ EGrip, and I currently have the BKO) and the BKO is muuuuuuuuuuuch better.

The EGrip is nothing special. It's just got a bunch of modes used to attract unsuspecting noobs. The BKO is much better.
(YES I have used/owned both of these markers)

With the A-5 you don't want to shoot fast! With my friends A-5 we were shooting it on full auto, and the kick is so tremendous that you can't hit a barrel from like 50 feet away. You're better off shooting like 1 bps with the A-5 otherwise you will never hit what you're aiming for. With a BKO you can shoot fast AND hit your target.
