Hi, have been reading in the forums for the last couple of weeks, and bought my first marker. It is a Spyder Flash, and I have a couple of questions. I need to know what the thumb adjuster does and how do you set it? I see there is an allen lock that contacts the marker to lock it, but how do you know were to set it? Second what is the plastic piece in the stock barrel for? If you get a new barrel do you need to use that plastic piece in the new one? One more question-I bought a 68/4500 tank, after reading everything I could in these forums, but would it be ok, to have a 20oz CO2 as a backup? I really cant afford to get another 68/4500 right now, maybe in a couple of weeks, but was thinking that a 20oz might be ok, to finish out a game or two, in case I run out of HPA.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

with the thumb adjuster you just turn it a little and check your speed. if your low then turn it up a little. if your over turn it down a little. the little set scew is so you can lock the adjuster in place so i dosnt move while you are paying and it makes it tourniment legal.

The plastic peice sounds like you are talking about a barrel plug. if it is at the end opening of the barrel its just a plug to stop a paintball for shooting sombody if you acedently pull the trigger. if you get a new barrel you have to put one in it to. its a saftey thing.

Your nitro tank will last you for about 1200 shots. that should last you a while.you shouldnt really switch to co2 right after you just used hpa. hpa is warm and warms up your gun. co2 is cold and will cool your gun down very fast. this may damage your gun and will probally destroy your o-rings.

Hope I helped

Thanks for the help. The plastic piece is not the barrel plug it is in the other end of the barrel. It slides in the barrel and then the barrel threads into the receiver. My tippmann does not have this insert. Looking at the parts list, they list it as barrel insert. Maybe it is to smooth the transition from the receiver to the barrel?

WOW!!!!!! This guy lives like 2 minutes from me:eek: the thumb adjuster makes u shoot faster or slower i know that blast camp in hobart has a top speed of 280 feet per second and country club in glenwood has 250 for faster u just turn the knob to the right for slower turn to the left.............u will need a spring kit for country club.......i bought one there for like $8 a spring kit comes with diff. tension springs my x-tra got down to about 273 so i had to put a softer spring in to get to 250:D

(feel free to e-mail me for additional info on the p-ball fields):)

does this thing actually go into the inside of the barrel or just over it?

It goes inside the barrel, then the barrel screws into the gun. I tried to fire the gun without it after playing today and the ball broke. I will put a pick up tommorow after I get home from work.

TheSickness-Here are a couple of pics. I think you are right about it ball detent of some sort. After reading up about sizing the barrel to the balls used, I checked to see how the PMI balls fit in the barrel, they are tight in the plastic piece, so I think that you are right. It keeps it from double feeding.

damn it. i figured it out. it's like a freak barrel insert. i think later on, kingman is going to release barrel inserts, so the paintballs with match the barrel. pretty clever of them.:D man am i smart... :D
