View Full Version : Bore Size... Bigger is better?

A while back, I was shocked to learn that bore size doesnt really matter. As long as the paint fits into the barrel, the shots will be just as accurate as a "good fit". A tight fit will give you slightly better efficiency, which is unnoticeable most of the time. With anything other than a closed bolt marker "just get a .693 and be done with it".

I am wondering if velocity will drop off as the bore gets larger than the paintball.

What are your thoughts on this? Does anyone have evidence that this is true? If someone is looking into getting a new barrel, should they opt for the larger bore size (.693)?

Thank you for your input.

Depends on your marker, if it's open or closed.

there is evidence i made a video it's floating on this forum somewhere.

just use the bore size thats fits in your barrel the best too big and it will slow down on its way out

Big bore barrel for open bolt, good paint to barrel match for closed bolt.
