Well Im askin for opinions and advice on what I can do. To start off I have a "Spyder" basically stock besides the barrel. I am faced with a difficult decision and point right now. Besides what goes on in life I need to find a way to make money and this X-Mas ma mom said she would either chip in on a gun for the sport of "PAINTBALL!!!!" or I could get a lap top with all good photography software... I mean that is alot of doe to go. and i dont know whether to choose the sport i love or the hobbie and active i love. I can prob slip off with a hpa tank at 200 dollars and i need a good gun that can shoot fast with a stock trigger that can shoot out a revvy or come close to eggII. I play with the stock tl-x to get better against electros then when i get a electro it will be easy as hell. Some electro not over 500 will do or do you got any ideas on making money... my biggest wish is to get a shocker base 03... so please help out the pbr's familys lil bro Jspek =]

I just picked up a Action Markers Sentinel TS for dirt cheap, and it is awesome. It is a mechanical, but it is very fast for a mech. It will outshoot a Revy easily. Blade trigger, delrin bolt, great anno...it's a great gun. I think new they are barely 200 bucks, and you don't need HPA as the valve is pretty much unfreezable. May be worth checking out.

I'd go with the laptop. You already have a gun to have fun with.

If you are going to get a good gun it doesn't have to be an electro buy a RT ULE Custom, its a mag but a damn good one. When the hAir trigger comes out it will be the best mech mag out there.

If you're going to be serious about paintball, get something like a B2k4 w/ PDS. A great gun for right around 500. If you're going to play once a month or so, just for fun, get the laptop and just have fun with your TL-x

The LapTop is part of my hobbie along with Photography... I want to be a good Photographer and Editor.. Im into Art and Music and stuff... so i mean its a hobbie.. but PAINTBALL... man dats like my life right there.. and especially having asian familys... the lap top i want is 2400 bux... ma family gonna say that i am spoiled for having a lap top at this age without knowing i use it for a purpose... but then agen if i saved for a shocker they gonna trip since they are asian... " HAH!! WHATA! YOUUUU SPEND AHHH SEVEN HUNDA DOLLAS ON A GON!!" ( CUSSING IN CHINESE) *SMACKS HEAD* so come down to it i dont know what I should do. Only thing is that they know Im into photography and is cool with it... but the laptop.. and paintball is life but they think its pointless and waste of money

sorry champ, but if you're into art and photography, a laptop is the last thing you need. you need a desktop, a wacom tablet, and a killer printer along with good software (adobe photoshop, jasc paintshop pro, painter, ect.)
so between a notebook pc and a new marker, i say get a marker, like an impulse, a bushy, omen, even a bko and HPA.

basically the best tablet you can buy. i suggest a 9" X 12" (that's what i have)
if you're looking to save money, an AIPTEK tablet is a great alternative.
...you still probably don't know what i'm talking about...

ya i like photography but I mean im usually on the go with things so i like to have it along besides me.. plus imaginging and stuff such as Acdsee. Photoshop/ adobe elements and etc.. it will all fit onto the lap top and all.. but its a decision.. either i get my gun and everything by november or get a 2400 dollar lap top by then... which i dont know.. what i should do... you seem to know alot about photography... should i just save up for a outkast, or just get the lap top and save for a shocker wid my own money and get better with the stock gun

Of the two choices you have listed, I would say to go with the Cocker. It is a better choice (in my opinion) than the Shocker. Still, I'd recommend you actually look into some of the productions recently made by AGD. Rather than basing everything on hype *cough* nerve *cough*, AGD (Automags) builds stuff based on quality and real physics, rather than fancy and that ugly square body. They actually do no marketing anymore, because Tom Kaye has decided that it is a waste of his time as he doesn't really care about that anymore. Instead, he spends his time working on perfecting those markers, and actually has over 5000 posts himself on the official Automags forum, not to mention the other thousands placed by the other techs at AGD.
What does AGD do that is so special? I'd note that they produce very high quality products at a reasonable price, and I could assure you that Tom Kaye isn't in it for the money anymore. His marketing strategy is appalling, to the point that they just don't market anywhere. They recently picked up Blitzkrieg, one of the best scenario teams, but not much else has changed. Secondly, they will actually end up working out technical issues with users, and also testing and developing user theories, as many of their designs are actually based off ideas proposed by some of the forum members.
They now offer a completely stock RT-ULE for $340 without the stock barrel. Replace the barrel with one of your choice (easy to find autococker threads). They will soon have a hair trigger out for it, and at the point that the hair trigger comes out, it will shoot as quickly as any electro (if not quicker considering the valve doesn't have shootdown 'til 26 BPS, which no other valve can claim).
My Dream RT-ULE Setup $520
Red X-Valve: Capable of 26 BPS without shootdown
Level 10: As good as any eye, but can't get blocked.
ULE CF Mainbody Red
Intelliframe Blade Nickel: Intelliframe directs the hopper feed to feed when gun is shot, rather than at all times.
ULE Trigger Pull Kit Installed
Red Teardrop Barrel

Your comparing a mechanical cocker and a electro shocker, the shocker's gonna easily be faster than the cocker, and for the cocker to get to the point where it performs close to the shocker, you'd've already spent hundred dollars more than if you had gotten the shocker.

Yea of course it will be more expensive to get a outkast upgraded to shoot like the shocker. But im saying if I count on skill to get better... which gun will help you get better. Me and My Team are hopefully wanting to get sponsored.. so do you think a autococker will be good enough to get us where we want to go.. Most of my Team wants to get a cocker and theres someone with one already. He might get a trix tho. So we are gonne enter our first tourney in Sept so do you think a Outkast or Nitekast can compeat with the people in the rookie division

any gun can compete in rookie level
my team...well my team is cheap (except 1 and i'm not really cheap)
we have the following:
2 fronts-parahna and a icon e
1 mid (me) - look in my sig
2 backs - icon e and a timmy (his dad bought it for him:rolleyes: )
all guns are STOCK except my gun and the timmy:laugh:

Do you think its worth saving for a shocker for (750) or get 450 for a Outkast... or upping a spyder with a esp, revvy, sweet spot, torpedo reg, hpa tank, on off uni mount

If you are going to buy a Shocker for $750 or a mech cocker for $450, why not get an Ebladed Cocker? :eyes:

You can get a Nightkast for less than $700.

Get the laptop. Take good pictures and edit them, then sell them to make money for the gun!
Then you get both.

Yea I wouldnt get a laptop unless you plan on doing allot of your work away from home. If I were you I would get a nice desktop PC with a good graphics card and a 19' monitor.
You could always just get a cheap PC like this:
http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/dimen_2400?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
Instead of paying 700-1000 for a laptop and then just save up for a better paintball marker. My friend got a leaky bushmaster 2000 off ebay for $100....all he had to do was reaplace a few orings and it was a great marker. Shop around you may be able to find some good deals on used markers. :D

If you got a cocker i would get a nite kast.
If you dont want to spend a lot of dough i would get an 04 Impulse for 425, and if you really want to rip put a was equalizer bored in it for 150. Witch bascaly has an unlimited bps count. (unless you can shoot like 40 bps).

I say go for the laptop photography thingie because that can actually prove to be useful later in life.

nightkast....or...I dunno if I should say it since they are out of popularity right now....a used angel....
I persoanlly say get the shocker, as they holdthere resale values btter than any cocker.
And when you decide that youd rather have a nice comp or camera, you can sell the shocker for far more than you could sell the cocker.

well I decided on getting a cheaper but still good laptop and camera... but ya i decided on getting probably a Nightkast or a BKO and change the regs... or a Impulse... but one thing about the impulse is that it shoots slow... anyway to make the trigger pull shorter and faster? please everyone heat it up and tell me what your opinions and advice are! back them up!

You need an aftermarket trigger on the impy, personally I dislike the stock pulse triggers.

Well I came up with a plan so everyone tell me what you think of it... ok im gonna save up and upgrade the hell out of my spyder tl-x. ok powerstation reg, esp 3.0, revvy, assault black, dye 700 psi gauge, crossfire 45/6800 tank, tigershark bolt, speedy drop... ok it will be like 500 dollars in all... then next year im gonna get a car for sure cause my parents said so.. and im gonna work at in n out and get paid 9 bucks an hour... by then there should be a newer vaio or newer better lap top... mayb a centrino voodoo computer or just simple sony vaio centrino... but sound good... pay for ma gun.. free car... study... get money from work... use it for gas clothes and laptop
STO Balla 22
07-08-2004, 06:48 AM
Don't upgrade your Spyder. I did it with my Imagine, it was still crappy, and then got my STO. Now I'm having all kinds of trouble selling my Imagine. BTW- if you want to buy it Jspec, let me know.
If it were me, I would go with a Shocker or a Nasty Imp. An e-cocker might be nice, but since you want to get a nice gun without spending extra money, definitely take a look at the Nasty Imp. You can find them at www.paintballwholesalers.com.

If your good at photography go with that. The only way paintball will get you money is if you hustle or become pro (Highly un likely because everyone wants to be pro). If you are very good at photography then you could make tons of money at that then buy a warehouse of shockers.
