I asked the same question over in the NE forum, not responses yet. The Skirmish Website only lists a 10 hour game, but my friends tell me they have a 48 hour scenario each winter.
It may be that a company/gaming group reserves the entire place for a day and runs it themselves.

I just got the Skirmish E-mail. They have a 24 hour senario game going on this July. I don't know the details, just that it is in mid- July and is going for 24 hours. I'll keep ya posted.

SCENARIO:
It's late winter 1867. A troop of US Cavalry has been wintering in a ramshackle fort in Wyoming Territory. The western territories were largely forgotten throughout the civil war. Requisitions for manpower and supplies were often overlooked. The US Military managed minimal presence throughout the west during this great conflict. The North American Plains Indian Tribes interpreted this lack of military presence as adherence to treaties negotiated in the years prior to the war. This war is over now. Citizens and immigrants are streaming west in large numbers, and the Sioux consider this another broken treaty. The Sioux tribes have been waxing bellicose through the last 18 months, and now their anger has reached a fever pitch. The Sioux have wintered well this year. Not so the US Calvary. Spring is just around the corner, but supplies are exhausted, tempers have grown short, and tension is running high in the fort. The Sioux know this is the time to attack and destroy this garrison. The last full moon of winter; "The Hunger Moon". The fort commander is in the throes of depression and cabin fever. He decides right or wrong to dispatch his troopers on a frosty, grueling march through the Wyoming Winter to find help for the remaining soldiers and settlers in this region. The troopers cinch their belts over their gaunt frames and trek out of the fort. From the ridge tops, wolves howl in anticipation of full bellies. For the wolves, the Hunger Moon is just about over.
