Do you think everything dye makes is overpriced? I do. I can't stand paying for those attack packs at $50 when they're only worth about $30. What do you think?

Well, you asked for a reply and I gave you one. Also do you use dye sticky grips? Does everyone else use them? Do they complain about the prices for them? Dye also has the xcel packs which are cheaper ($30). Lots of people have the attack packs, because they are nice, quality will always cost you more money.

He's right to some extent though. Come on guys, DYE stuff costs about twelve times what they make it for. Do you really think that's $20 worth of rubber on your stickys? Is that boomstick really $105 of stainless steel? Granted, they hone it, but come on, they mass-produce the stuff. Now, it is high quality stuff, but it is also overpriced, simply because the DYE name is on it. And anyone who tells me the DYE Angel isn't a little pricey is nuts.

It's the exact same thing as Nike. Even the golf balls (yes I do play golf as my school sport) are like 18 a sleeve, when titleist PROVI's are only 15. Jeez these peeps really need to lower their prices.

If someone makes the same type of product at the same quality level buy theirs. If no one else does, then don't buy it. Its you choice.

well, nike balls are really good,( yes i play golf also) tiger woods uses nike balls, not cuz they're "nike" but cuz they're better than titleists. titleists are also very good, and if u use $15-a-sleeve balls, then u can afford $3 more for a better ball.

hey golf boy just so you know nike golf balls are made by precept and they are the same balls but precept knew people would buy the nike balls but if you want a ball as good as thenike one than you should buy precepts

Redz Packs are around 30 bucks and theyare sweet as hell. Equation barrels are 95 and more accurate and djutable than a boomstick.

The only reason dye sells there barrels for so much is cause people continue to buy them. If their sales dropped, they'd lowwer their price. Think about it. If you created the best barrel on the market (or if everyone thought so) and everyone wanted it, why not over price it?

surrenderordie

So that people can afford it.

Lets say they lowered prices to 75-95 dollars. Lets see how many more people could afford them for 75. Their number of sales would fly up. If that happened they would make more profit. More profite means new research. New research means newer better barrels. New better barrels means more sold because they are better. More sold means more profit. I think you get the point. If they lowered them into a price range that most could afford it would do them and us a lot of good.

I don't know if the amount of extra orders would be enough to excede the profit they get now.

I'm right up there with Crusher guys. Lets face it, you could buy a 4+1 from ronin gear for $30, and get pods with it.
Ronin gear is a well known name, and they don't charge you 20 extra bucks just for having their name on it.

I agree that Dye is overpriced, but you have to consider it from a supply and demand perspective. They produce their goods at a certain rate. The supply level is set. Now if the demand is greater than the supply, they will increase their price until the demand is at the same level as the supply. Now, if their prices went even higher, they would have a surplus supply, which would lead to a lowering of the price to sell that surplus. They could always produce more, thereby increasing the supply and driving down the price. This may or may not be favorable for Dye since this may not improve their profit margin. The additional cost of manufacturing and the overall lower price can actually hurt their profit margin.

I'm betting that Dye has the consultants to calculate the optimal level of production and the optimal resulting price to give them their largest profit margin.

Remember, it is us as the consumer that sets the price. Obviously their prices are not too high since I see Boomsticks on almost every marker at my local field.

its like Abercrombie... are their clothes really that much better than say Gap to be worth the innnnnncredible prices they charge? nope. but people like having the brand name on them as status symbols. just like dye. and by the way, you will tank yourself (tank as in fail miserably) if you buy all dye... not to mention you wont have $ to eat for weeks...

But don't forget, that DYE makes some of the best looking equipment ever seen. Take their 2002 jerseys, best looking, in my opinion better than JT, but a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Their ball harnesses, you can find them for cheap prices, just look around harder. But I do agree, the Boomstick is a bit over-priced, the titanuim is also way out of my price league. The DYE Angel issue, I have wet dreams over this gun, but 2200 for that gun will make my parents sh** themselves when they see the bill! But you can find one for 1699 at actionvillage. Skanline has them but are wicked expensive!

the DYE autococker is also a sweet gun but its like twice the price of a 2k2.

Actually the DYE Cocker is more than three times the price of a 2k2.

I have a DYE Barrel, Stainless, $130 Canadian. Well worth it compared to most other products that are about $100. I chose it over the All American because DYE is style and it looks great on my gun. I have a freakin DYE guage that set me back $30 Canadian. I believe that was an unwise purchase as I rarely use it.

Everything in paintball is overpriced. Except maybe paintballs...

Ummmm...I hate to be the one to break this to you, but there is no way in HELL that the "titanium" Boomstick is made of titanium. It is just not possible, as titanium is not a shiny metal when in it's pure form. And don't say I don't know what I'm talking about, 'cause my dad has a block of solid titanium (It's only about 3"X3"x3") that is pure, and it certainly is not shiny. Oh, and plus, it can't be anodized, so that means that a "titanium" Boomstick is plated, which would also mean it SHOULD cost less than it does.
DYE used to be a good company, but they've gone downhill and to the dark side from their once excellent name. Many companies that focus on ONE thing are now so much better than DYE. Equation USA, Unique, Redz, Ronin Gear, just to name a few.
