Hey guys, Has anyone had trouble with shooting Marbs? My Impulse does not like them. I was breaking them inside the gun. I tried losening the ball dent, because it looked like the balls were hitting the top of the chamber. But that did not help. I was running it at 180, so i dropped it to 170 and had the same problem, so i dropped it to 160. Still had the problem. Any suggestions. I am hoping it was bad paint. We did not have the crono out but i played last week and was able to adjust it them becuase we had a crono(280). Thanks for the help!

You might have hit the nail right on the head with your "bad paint" statement Rocko, Fresh paint can make all the difference in the world. Paint to barrel matching would no doubt be my second concern! Where is it breaking? How old is the paint? And how does it match up to the barrel? Marbs are pretty good at about 689 on a freak, Do you know anyone else that's having the same problem with this paint? See if they do when they shoot some of yours!

Well i have the stock barrel. All american black. the balls were breaking right around the ball dent. There was paint all inside . on the bolt and in the ball dent. I just bought the paint from a local shop. They looked like they were in great shape. No dents and pretty round. The paint seem a little small for the barrel. It would not roll through the barrel but was very easy to blow out. I was sharing the case with a guy who was using a standard tippman. He broke one all day. I am going to try diablo blaze as my next paint.

This is way I'd like to see a born on date, kind of a freshest if used by date that's put on all products that have a certain shelf life! The cold weather and (paints)age could be the culprits in this case.

So really don't worry yet. try other paint? Does losening the ball dent help?

have yu had this happen with any other paint?,how fast is your bps? are you out shooting your hopper? your dwell setting can
cause chopping

You are chopping paint, not breaking it in the barrel. The first sign of a chopped ball is paint on the bolt and on the ball detent. You are simply outshooting you revy. You might want to turn your ROF down so you don't have this problem.

Wow, do you really think i am out shooting the revy? Ok, you mention to turn down my rof. is that just slowing down my trigger pull. or is there a setting i can adjust? I can also turn down the dwell. I don't have a crono to play with. But can i tweak the dwell with out one.

There is a setting on the board inside you gun. When you look at the board you will see a pot that says semi above it. When you are looking at it so you can read semi turn it to about the 1 o'clock position. This should be close to where you shouldn't chop. If will slow you gun down a little, but it will still shoot fast enough to spray your oppenents bunker.

Have you adjusted your dwell and pressure to get the proper velocity?

Yes i have set the dwell and the velocity with a crono. When i get a chance i will do it again then see what happens. If that does not work i will look at the ROF.

thanks
