I May Be Leaving The Tippmann Family

Gun wise, that is. I've been contemplating selling my Tippies and buying a Phantom since I love stock class play and play like once every 6 months anyway.

Just wondering what you guys would do.

Either way I'll still be the mod for Tippmann, just leave the family like CD did.

I think knowledge of a marker and its operation is more important than what marker a mod actually uses.

Tura doesn't know that stuff. At least I don't think he does.

So Tura, when are you going to Mod someone? You'll have nothing to refer to when troubleshooting a marker problem without a Tippmann Marker.

Well if I were to ever even get considered I'd hand it off to Coenen.

But, Tura can't appoint a moderator but he could strongly recommend one. Tura's not leaving, he'll be around, he'll still be a mod and I doubt anyone will be modded.

Although it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Well my MAIN marker is. I still have my Tippmann, it's my scenario marker since it has the M4 cosmetics.

I still plan to buy upgrades for it too. Occasionally I look through Model98.net and look for new fun things to do. I'm still very much into my Tippmann.

Well guys, I said I MAY be selling them. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.

Eryk: My m98 and a PC. And I've already made a diagram of how a m98 operates (minus the trigger). I just need an A-5 so I can answer most peoples questions about those :P

I can't mod anyone. All I can do is suggest. Plus they have to become an Agent first. And I've already put in my suggestions for Agents. And no, I won't tell you who I picked.

Does Tippmann even make the SL-68 II still? Plus the SL-68 II stock isn't a stock class gun. I'd want one like spor posted a picture of. Which would take work and money.

Time for me to reply.

I'd definitly sell the tippmanns for a phantom, and since you only play once every 6 months anyway, why let your tippmanns go to waste when some kid out there could be using them for the next 100 years.

I doubt i'll be leaving the family any time soon, my next gun either being a cocker or trix will have my 98 custom as a back up, then the 98 will become the rain/woodsball gun.

If he wants to be quiet about who he picked for being an agent let him, there's no use in badgering him over it.

I find it strange that this thread pops up the day after I talked fairly seriously with some uber noob at my work about selling him my Tippmann. I don't think I'm going to do it though.

Tura, good luck in whatever you choose, I know you'll like the Phantom, they are excellent markers, and stock class will definitely make you a better player if you ever decide to go back to semi.

Actually I do have mod experience and from my own perspective I was very fair.

And actually I'm sad to admit that Coenen has actually been here longer than me. He joined 2 months before me. Unless I read his join date wrong. But the date you joined means nothing. I joined 4 months before Turambar. I think UT, Hal, Vayp, and Magnus are the only current active mods who joined before me. But I'm probably wrong. Plus there are people like Shadow221 who is more than worthy of being a mod but isn't and he joined in 2001. And then there's Teufelhunden who was, somehow, voted should-be-mod by PBR. It really just comes down to who is more worthy of the position than who has seniority.

Maybe two could be appointed. One that knows the M98 *cough* coenen *cough* and someone who knows the A-5. That would make some sense.

But the longer on here doesn't really mean much if you think about it.

IMO there's only one person worthy enough (for my crazy high standards ;) ) to take over.

Plus I can't just make someone a mod. The other mods have to agree on them becoming an Agent, then agree on them becoming a mod.
