which would be better in a shorter length 10" - 12", for playing front with an impulse? which is better self cleaning? more accurate? less arc? more range? etc....

well cosidering you play front that means speedball to me. which means sometimes you might go to tourneys or other fields right. if so then you will be shooting different paint. i like the boomy and freak. they are about equivelant in my book. the freak is great for shooting different paints and even nicer for when the weather changes if your paint shrinks or gets bigger. i think they are both about as accurate as the other. depending on the front piece you get for the freak depends on the self cleaning. but my freak cleans pretty good after about 4 balls. a boomy is kinda jacked after the first ball break and needs to be squeegeied right away or you have no accuracy. arc and range wont matter with a barrel or gun it is your paint to barrel match that determines this. also no gun or barrel will shoot farther than another at the same speed. except flatline which has no revelance here. in short man go with the freak great barrel great company

yea... looks like freak is probably the way to go, cuz it's one of the only barrels that come in 10" for an impy, and i defintetly want to go with it short, probly go with the teardrop front as well since i've got that (14" teardrop) on my spyder compact at the moment, and i live in wi. so the weather isn't exactly the same year around.....

you should have made this a poll. i would've liked to see the results. i personally would go with the freak, for the scheer versatility and the fact that i dont like boomers :P

I like boomsticks, but if I had the money for a freak I would get the freak. Inserts and such.

Get yourself the Freak! I've got every length (but 18") in teardrop, with 2) 10 inchers and two AA's (only come in 14") black and silver, with three backs! However most of the time I use the 10" on the two Impulses , they're really ideal for every game I play!
