today i called my shop and talked to him about me getting a bushy... he said that ICD is goin to court because some company ( smart parts?) has a patent on the LCD design and they might get sued of all there money.... any one else heard about this? he also siad he could get me a defiant but dont ICD produce them by order of BL?



THIS IS CRAZY!!! lol.... let me know

If its the lcd then I dont think it could be smart parts since they dont have any guns with LCDs. I know that WDP got some stuff pattented not too long ago and said they would defend strongly their design. Im not sure exactly what they were talking about.
If they were going under I dont think they would spend thousands of dollars to send their techs to tourneys to do free maintenance with not even stuff to sell.

Well I don't think there's anything to worry about. But there are several places the story could have come from.

Smart Parts has tried to sue every company that makes an electro gun.

WDP is trying to defend the use of an LCD in a marker. So that means they'll be suing, ICD, Bob Long, possibly AGD (even though its an LED) etc etc.

I seriously doubt we have anything to worry about.

:D I got inside connections ;) I know the peoples at ICD's factory team, and I HEARD that Smart Parts was suing them because they thought it was simalar to Impules, which is complete BS~! Anyway, this is just what I have heard. They won't win, ICD is fine....

yeah, i'm pretty sure the shocker came out first, then the bushy, then the impulse is the younger brother of the shocker, in any case, i think we're ok for now. all it means is our guns will be more valuable in a couple years.
it would however be a great shame for such an awsome company (ICD) to get taken down.

about the wdp with the patent thing

i think that wdp is only gonna fight companys who have BOTH an lcd in the gun and a computer interface

so as long as icd doesnt make a datalink of some kind, they should be fine

Thats not possible. You can't patent LCD's in paintball guns. That'd be like patenting chairs in airplanes!!!
