well, at my local field they dont fill pmi pure energy co2 tanks.
I e-mailed anthony the owner at:actionpursuit1@yahoo.com
and asked why.
This was his reply."We dont fill those tanks and we are not at liberty to say why.
Anthony"
well i think there just trying to make money by making you rent a tank
what do you think
do they do this at your local field?

I am just throwing this out there.... but it could be because of all the problems with the valve coming off of the tank and it shooting off. I beleive those were all pure energy tanks.

maybe they aren't trained to fill tanks:confused:

Its because of the incidents with the PMI valves unscrewing from the tanks and killing some people.
No field wants to be liable for something like that so they're just preventing their insurance from skyrocketing even more.
Rockin the catalina tank.

im pretty sure thats right. Think about it, if you owned a field and the valve of a co2 tak came off and killed someone at your field, how good of publicity would you get? not good. It might also be for insurance reasons

My field now requires you have the co2 tank on the gun so they can unscrew it off the asa and make sure the actual tank does not come off without the valve.
Maybe suggest this method to them?

the same incident is the reason why my paintball shop wont sell me a replacement valve for my 9oz back up...

first off the tank that cause the death was not a factory tank it was modded with a anti siphon tube and was installed wrong.the users plugged the safty holes on the valve and did not tork the valve down to the correct foot pounds. If your worries about your tank have an air smith take the valve off clean it and reinstall in with the correct foot pounds.then take some white nail polish make a line ____ across the valve and onto the tank.if the valve moves it going to break this line and show you have a problem before you unscrew the tank to far. Most new players and ones that played for a long time dont look at there tanks when they unscrew them.they just turn and shoot.this is why the tank shot off in cal.kid just kept on turning intill boom.

It's probably for liability reasons. Someone I know had his PE valve start to unscrew when he was taking it off not long ago. Luckily it was almost empty and the rest just sprayed out. The pro-shop fixed it for free.

PMI tanks suck. But if your field wont fill them buy a new one. Like a Catalina. Cheap and good.

my local feild wont fill co2 either. Because of the valve coming off. They only allow hpa, and if you dont have it, they rent you a tank for 5 dollars. lol

I think Skunkteeth's suggestion is good. I have an anti siphon on my tank, and I was instructed to paint a line on the valve and make sure that the line moves when I unscrew the tank. I have done this and I have never ahd a problem. Simple precautions are all that you need to avoid a tank firing off. Anyone who works at a field SHOULD know this.
