So, here we are, playing a little elimination woods game. We are on a hill, somewhat on an incline. I saw a buddy of mine that was sneaking around behind some trees. I engage fire, and he returns fire. He then runs up behind some trees. I advance up the hill where I hid myself in a nestle of trees and shrubery.
I can see him through the leaves looking around. I can immediatly tell that he lost track of where I was. Now, keep in mind that he's only about 25 feet away. I'm about as still as a deer in front of headlights. I got my cammo on, so I figure if I stay very still, he won't see me. Sure enough, he doesn't see me - so he begins to make his way out from the trees where he was hiding. That was his first mistake.
He slowly steps out into the open, looking around. He has no idea where I'm at. Little does he know, I'm now only 20 feet in front of him.
He just stands there looking around. My legs are now getting fatigued because I've been standing in a crouched position behind some trees for what seems like an eternity. I have to make a decision. I don't have a really good shot because there's branches in my view. If I break away from my cover, he could very well tag me before I have a chance to shoot. Or, I can raise my gun up very slowly and take a shot, even though I don't have a very good field of view.
I decided to take the shot. I slowly raise my gun up and aim the best I could. I wasn't even aiming at anything specific, but I knew if my first shot missed I could easily double tap and hit him on my second.
The gun is in position. I decide to double tap anyway. The first shot (gulp), hit's him right square where it hurts! The second shot hit's his arm as he falls to the ground like a 100lb sack of Idaho potatoes. He drops so suddenly, that his hopper falls of his gun and paintballs are rolling all over the ground. He screams, "OH NO". Now remember, I was only 20 feet away. My gun is chrono'd at 280fps.
I totally didn't mean to shoot him there - I felt so bad. But he bounced up after a few minutes in the fetal position and kept playing. After I found out that he was ok, I laughed my head off. It was great! That's why I wear a cup!
