a store i go to has the evil pimp in stock and they mentioned it to me. initially, as my sig says, i was planning on getting the alias timmy. however, the owner of the store strongly suggests the pimp since it is much cheaper and as accurate and faster than the timmy. but i was wondering, how is the maintenance on the pimp?as easy as the timmy? how bout durability/dependability? i'm new to impys so i don't know much about them. is it really worth it? any advice would be helpful.

I really would not classify the PIMP as a Impulse. first off it's the only IMP clone made that not made buy Smartparts, also some things are very diff on it then on any impulse. It yses Timmy eyes, a was like board, and a very fast internal set up.
The PIMP will actually be more reliable then the timmy. Timmies require alot of cleaning and maintanence and there always seems to be something small that needs to be fixed. Electronics are literally stuffed in the grip frame and it's set up very cheaply.
I'd say go for the PIMP. Not only does it perform better but it's put together better and will turn more heads cause it's new.

ic, sorry bout the confusion of a pimp being an impy. i'm still hesitant about buying one though since i haven't fired a pimp yet. the guys at the store won't let me so i'm unsure about whether it would be a good fit
but thanks for the advice. anyone else have any comments?

10 cases of paint... ranging from Draxxus to Evil... and ranging from REALLY old to brand new.... 0 chops...
It's very fast... quite simple to take care of (run oil through the Detonator now and then)... and occasionally grease the ram...
Do you have any specific questions about performance that I can answer? Personally I'd rate everything top-notch but if you wanted to know about any particular part of performance or whatnot, it'd make the description easier.

is the trigger pretty light? and can i use an hp tank on the pimp without damaging the reg?
1 Evil Package

The Trigger is very light and i say its easier to walk. its light becuz of the magnesium trigger. And HP tanks would work fine but you have to adjust the dwell more, but just get a LP Pure Enegry Tank. More than likely and plus 68/4500 is a good size for the pimp you'll get like 1200 shots out a one fill for a 68/4500 tank. You have any other questions just PM me or just post here.

I would go with the Alias or a Matrix. Those are the 2 best guns on the market IMO. I havn't heard much about the pimp, but if its quality is like the Omen you would be better off with the Alias.

Alrite, so here's the deal. I'm going to buy a new marker. However, I don't know which one. The price does come into play. So for 800 I can get the pimp which is supposed to be faster and as accurate as the Alias. However, for 1300 I can get the Alias. And dayam the Alias is nice. Would the Alias really be worth the extra 500? All I want is a gun that can rip and is accurate and easy to maintain. I just want to know whether I should just blow the extra 500 to get an Alias or not.

Look into a Matrix also. They rip like no tomorrow and don't need a whole lot of maintenance.

Matrix is a good choice, along with a Shocker. Bother are the same price as the pimp, and all you have to do is grease some o-rings.

Shocker relies on a reflective vision eye and the Pimp has better vision. Yet the shocker is much smaller and lighter but i dont really care about weight. Trixies are good but i dont kno anything about them and to make them really good they need lots of upgrades, and should i buy the Dye Matrix (not the DM4) or the Generation E-Matrix or the Limitied Edition LED Matrix? I'm talking about the Matrixes on thematrixcenter.com if you want the specifics..

Never had any problem with my shocker seeing dark paint. My halo will turn into a blender before the shocker will.

The Dye Matrix LCD on bradyspaintball.com (http://www.bradyspaintball.com) requires no upgrades except maybe a clamping feedneck. It already comes with a great barrel, perfect eye system, and an upgraded lpr, inline, and bolt kit. Matrices ae easy to maintain, just grease the o-rings and bolt every 10,000-15,000 shots. A bone stock Matrix will out-perform most markers on the market.

I'm leaning towards the Trixie cuz it closed bolt and that means theres less maintenance

Consider all the closed bolt guns ever made... and then come back and tell me what you think about it.
Also, in reference to the Matrix being closed bolt... please consult the FAQ below.

According to that FAQ thread the Matrix is open bolt, but I just meant the bolt is closed off to field stripping so if you get shot in the back of the gun somehow your bolt wont be covered in paint.
Thanks though..

I think the preferred term for that is "Enclosed bolt"... but yeah the Matrix is an Enclosed bolt so you don't run the risk of getting shot in the bolt (unless someone puts a shot RIGHT down your barrel)... and in that case... well... someone got a GOOD aim.
Trixes are nice, but I suggest not making a full decision until you can have an opportunity to hold a Pimp and put a pod or two through it, I think you'd be suprised...

I've actually almost had that happen once, I was playing against friend on my field and he shot right at the tip of my barrel and our paintballs collided cuz i was shooting at him too and the ball broke right at the tip of my barrel.

I talked to some people who work at my local field and they told me to either get a texas storm timmi that they were selling for $900 or the 04 LCD Matirx and I asked about the PIMP and maybe a shocker and he said the PIMP sucks because Evil sent them 2 and the first one didnt work and the second one did for a day then broke and he said dont get a shocker unless u want to work on it alot.

The pimp fires faster than an alias intimadator... hahahha... I laugh at that. Not to start a flame war, but how fast can the internals of the imp fire? Also, the trigger on the pimp is tiny, I end up trying to walk the bottom of the trigger guard, but I guess it is preference, just get the timmy. Also, apparently the people at your field do not know how to maintain their timmy. After shooting about 20 cases through my timmy, my lpr needs some fixing up, that is it. Note: I am not trying to start a flame war. I also believe that he did end up buying the alias....

Obviously they do kno how to maintain thier matrix because they had no problems with it unless u meant the PIMP, but they are pro's at what they do and the guy who used the PIMP is on the Atomix team and is almost a pro anyway so he knows how to maintain a gun!
I'll just be happy with the trix! No hassle with the PIMP which is new and has some bugs in it unlike the Matrix which has been around for quite some time and has more than proven itself.

Lesson #71... NEVER Trust a Pro regarding a product.
If they are a pro... ESPECIALLY a well-known pro... then you should think twice about listening to their opinion... they are paid and sponsored to endorce certain products...
I wouldn't even trust a Pro ENDORSING a product...
LESSON Finished...
Now, I am not sure if anyone trusts my word anymore than that of your average Pro.... but I will say this...
The Pimp is a very well designed gun... that offers little in the way of design/function problems... but let's admit right now... that in all things, you will encounter good examples and bad examples...
I have seen Trixes that would hardly fare as paper-weights... and some that I would CERTAINLY purchase...
The same goes for Timmies...
My PIMP just flat out rips... can you say "stupid fast"?

The funny thing here is that ur WRONG!!
Actully he is paid and sponsored to say certain things but the guy is truthful. He is SPONSORED BY PMI AND EVIL!!! Guess who make the PIMP? EVIL!! And he told me NOT to buy it because he's truthful and NOT being paid to lie!! Anyway if he sold me a to buy a sh*tty gun from their prohop he would have to fix it for free, so i dont think he will tell me to get a sh*tty one just so he has to fix it all the time cuz they have a lifetime warranty!

Wrong I may be... but I seriously doubt it...
Besides, no reason to re-act in such a hostile fashion to a mere note of concern... That last post came across like you're 14.
Your story does more to fuel my suspiscions than I could have come up with on my own... NO sponsored player bad-mouths his sponsors product openly and keeps the sponsor long...
What did you say this player's name was?

Its not like his sponsor is going to find out about a conversation between only him and i! And that may be true, he might even switch sponsors tommorow.

Did you ever hear of MAP? Don't knock of dealers doing the right thing. You go sell out of your trunk and leave the legit dealers to take care of customers that want real service.

BASS or whatever your name is or is supposed to imply your flamin over something you don't have any reason to flame about, did I offer to sell him one? No! so stop bein so proprietary and growlin like a dog that thinks somebody's tryin to steal his bone.
I sell enough in my OWN paintball shop so that I don't have to be prowlin the forums scrapin up buisness so I'm hardly the one who needs to go sellin out of his trunk unlike some I've come across.
I Know exactly what *(MAPP)* is and I also know that if a registered dealer (Which I am!) wants to wholesale to another dealer Which I'm not but there are those that do thats perfectly acceptible and MAPP becomes crap, the other dealer can do as he pleases pricewise and advertise those prices without the registered dealer facing ANY consequences from it, but evidently you being the seasoned resident expert and all knowing paintball guru authority and all didn't pick up on that and failed to inform all your loyal
clients in favor of your own best interests.Sorry for taking so long to reply but I was busy running a paintball store

some of the younger dudes wanting the good stuff by putting a bug in their ear that they can find what they are lookin for if they look hard enough and not imply that it's me
cuz thats not the case, and somebody who's so full of their
own self importance and means absolutley nothing to me is gonna send a shot across my bow like I'm supposed to be impressed get real, What'd he think I was gonna do flop on my back and pee on myself, well here's a news flash for him I'm an authorized dealer for ALL the marker manufacturers individually as well as about a hundred others
I Don't sell on e-bay and I don't go spamming the forums to chisel up buisness, but when one of my distributers hands
me a deal I try pass it along instead of puttin the meat to the guys that buy, if he took it personal thats his own problem don't send it my direction or I'll damned sure goggle ya with it
