Does it matter? Just get an evil pipe, unless you're getting a discount on the freak.

They're fairly quiet. Pipes are loud, just FYI.

The Freek is better and it is quieter. Its even quiet with the gun right up at your head.

the freak blows compared to most kits. who gives if its quiet. that shouldn't determine why you buy things, quality should be.

Yeah to most kits but to most single barrels, no. I bought it b/c of all of the REVIEWs here convinced me it was the best bang for your buck.

I play mostly woodsball with about 20 people so i like my barrels quiet. Allthough i enjoy playing speed ball at canobie i dont get to do so often. I also dont like to feel like im shooting a Silver Bullet when im shooting a cocker. And i have heard goodthings about freaks and i think that most people who dont like them just say that becaust they hate smart parts (which is understandable) Thanks for all your help

Most single barrels are better too. For example...the CP kit is better than the freak. Dont need a kit you say? Buy a CP 2 piece because its the same barrel without the extra bores. Bam, single barrel better than a freak.
I obviously Don't hate SP because I havea shocker, but my brother has a freak for his cocker and it isn't that great. I owned a pipe kit and it was far superior, as well as my cp 2 piece is. If you want a kit buy the CP base kit. Three backs and a front. You even get to pick the size of the three backs, so there are no useless bore sizes like the freak. When is the last time you need a .679 barrel? Exactly, you don't. The freak has quite a few completely useless bores. Its biggest is like a .695, you must eb shooting some VERY old paint if you need that.

I'm not a fan of Pipes are Freaks. Pipes aren't bad they are jsut pricey and LOUD.
However, Freaks, when you can find a good set are not that bad. But right there is the problem. The quality is questionable. The freaks I have seen have had troubles. Save yourself money and buy a SP progressive it is very quiet. If you're willing to sacrafice a bit of the quietness for better quality I will say get a CP 2 piece.
The best "bang for your buck" kit, since you do have a cocker, would have to be teh J&J Edge kit or the MacDev Matchstick set with the CP (my favorite) being slightly more expensive.

You said the quality is questionable. What is questionable about it? Is it like loose inserts or what? And is the quality better with the stainless steel freak kit?

Freak is just worthless, the seams sometimes don't align properly and it's just a waste of money.
If you want a nice kit, get a Empire, or CP.

dude, you guys are nuts the freak is awesome, its better that n the cp, the cp cant change bores so unless you plan on using the exact type of paint every day then get a freak, there pricey but on ebay you can get a freak junior for 80 dollars if you search. also they are extremly quite my marker was ear shattering before i got it and now it sounds like hard breath more than a shot.
