EM1 or Impulse? [Archive] - Paintball Forums

And then there were two...

Okay, I've narrowed it down to two guns: the Impulse and the EM1.

Which one should I get?

I'd say get the Impulse. Why? The Impulse can use co2, the Em1 can't. The Impulse has a metal one piece feed neck (pretty sure), the Em1 has a plastic connector thingy. Yes, the Em1 has more modes, but NPPL and most tournaments are banning anything but semi-auto. The Impulse has one of the best regulators on the market, the Em1 has a "regulator" too... but it's a horrible one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Em1 take Kingman drop forward threads or something? The Impulse has a great upgrade path, such as voodoo parts, the vision system, etc. I thought about the em1 at one time, but I think the Impulse is a much better gun for your money. I love the fact that I don't have to dish out the cash for a nitro system right off. Go shoot em both and see which one you like. Just remember the facts above.

I'll tell you the same thing I've told anyone and everyone before you that's said "Which do I get the Impulse or the Whatever" Try both of them! You are the one that's gotta pay for it, It should feel right both in your hand , and in your wallet! Then you'll have no one to blame or thank other than "YOURSELF", for the choice was yours!

i havent heard many good things about the EM1, but hey... they IMPY is no joke! serious paint slinger!

i would say go for the impulse. its lower pressure, (way lower) and better designed and made than any kingman gun (at least in my opinion). Also, the impusle uses co2, and the em1 cant. the impulse has a great reg, while the em1 has a stock kingman reg. Lastly, while i cant say i hate kingman, im getting pretty close. All i can say is, i am not impressed with kingman quality, especially cause my damn spyder just doesn't wanna work- and a spyder is a pretty simple gun.
