sport, yes
recreation, yes

Going out in the woods with your paintball gun, wearing camo, isnt a milsim.. its a recreational activity :P

I still see sports as recreation with a set of rules, and a goal.

Some say sports are only if there is a professional circuit, but hell, my sister is playing in a Boggle tournament. If there is a game, some people will be good at it, and will seek the top competition.

Edit:

Not saying boggle is a sport, but if we went by the definition that to be a sport you needed professional competition, then all games would automatically become sports.
