Recently a newspaper article in my local paper(i live in southern OKlahoma) was published and it dubbed paintball as PainBall. I found this very dumb and detouring(sp?) for our sport. Reporters need too learn about the sport before publishing BS. It was saying stuff like why parents alow this and that u should have to be 18 to play or we should just ban it all togethr. And siad they had alreayd contacted our Wal-Mart to start sale of paintball related items. And they started a little uhh i dunno a word for it but to get parents to stop buying from our local shop and to stop taking their kids by saying how dangerous it is

But to the contrast my Sister who is a Reporter for Oklahoma Today( a magazine in OKlahoma BTW) Had a chane to write a article about Oklahoma D-Day and i made sure i informed her correctly. Although it ened up only Being a short Blurb that was more a advertisement. At least it got a little light shed upon it in a Magazine published statewide that had nothing to do with paintball. Well that was my rant if u have any comments or maybe suggestions on what i could write into my paper to say go ahead BE my guest.

Write an article to whoever wrote it and ask if they will come spend a day at your local paintball field. Find a bunch of players who play to have fun and are good sports so that they will get an even more positive feel for the players and the game. (it'd be even better if you could find some young ones so then they'll see that anyone can play and play safe.) Then just play, then the reporter could see that paintballs really don't hurt that bad and all the percautions that are taken at fields. If they still think of it as an evil sport then well there really isn't anything else you can do but you should try and show them that it really is a safe fun sport. My 2 cents.

i can see where ur coming from, but paintball's been called pain[t]ball a lot before...by ppl both in and out of the industry/sport, so i see no problem with that.

i do. that makes it sound like the whole point is to hurt other people, which it isn't. unless some little fool tries to wipe and then i light him up :D
