Sorry to ask the same type question as many others, but here goes...
I'm about to buy a setup and need to stay moderately inexpensive. Both the 3.0 ($149)and STS G2 Titanium ($145) get great reviews - what do you guys think?
Also: Nitro vs. CO2 - Should I go straight to nitro instead of CO2? Can I switch from one to the other? And can both guns even use nitro?
I'd appreciate any input you guys have. Thanks.

The Piranha- I've had mine for awhile, and have had no problems. The 3.0 tens to have bolt issues.
Florida? Use C02. They can both use Nitrogen, but Nitro tends to be very expensive, and a lot of work for a newbie. C02 is fickle to weather, but in Florida, that shouldn't be a problem.
If you do get the Piranha, get a new barrel and expansion chamber pronto... I reccomend either DYE or Lapco for a barrell, and any 4+ stage x-chamber.

Your best bet is to shoot and maybe play a game with both guns. Find someone that has either gun of a similar one and shoot it. See what feels best to you and get it.
Yes, both guns can use nitro and if you have the cash for it, get it. If you want your gun to be light then get a fiber wrapped N2 tank. The steel ones are a lot heavier.
Don't get a x-chamber, get a regulator if it's in your budget. Much better. Remember to get one that is compatible with your air source. Get any barrel that will fit the paint you shoot.

Why get a G2 when you can get a G3 vertical or powerfeed in titanium or black for $134.99. It is that cheap at pbgear.com . I have been using a Piranha for a while and it works very well just use the right paint that fits the barrel because when I didn't it broke a ton of paint. But when you use the right size it shoots very very well.

Yeah, a regulator might be better.... But even in Texas, it goes from cold to hot throughout the day. I personally prefer an x-chamber, but that's just me.
Yeah, if you've got the cash, get nitro. But be sure to learn how to use and care for it. You do not want to mess with a cylinder of air pressurized at 3000-5000 psi and have it leak, or even worse, explode. That's why those things are in steel or wrapped in Kevlar.
Oh yeah, and get a nice regulator, not some Spyder factory crap. My bud Mike got nitro for his '01 Autococker, and due to the low grade of the stock reg, he jumped from 280 fps to 320 in 5 minutes. I suggest a Palmer's, or Max-Flow.

The Jt is a very good gun it is very maintainable and shoots great!! I got it for 115$ at www.firstcallpaintball.com it is an awsome price! I also have a black 14" CP barrel on it (spyder) BUY the JT 3.0 for sure! IT rules!

Dont get the Jt, everyone has them... get the piranah, i have the same exact gun as u want. I love it... just get a new barrel and ur set for awhile, conserves co2 good (ive never actually ran out) chops few balls (get a new barrel and it wont chop any) grip/trigger are nice.. the double trigger is easy for a begginer to use, and its pretty light

Um...you do not necessarily have to get a new regulator if you buy a preset tank(Already has a regualtor)

Ok, I handled an Xcellerator. Basically, it's a decent gun except for one thing. The gun I handled had a mile long trigger pull. Longer than I've ever felt in my life. I mean, you couldn't get more than 5BPS if you wanted to, no matter HOW fast your finger is. Basically, what I'm trying to say is you could get screwed on the trigger pull if you get an Xcel. I haven't heard of a Pirhana doing that though.
