What kind of tourny is it? Knowing this will just help us give you a better answer.

It's not a speedball tourney, is it? If so, I don't believe there's such a thing as a "sniper". Maybe in woodsball, but not speedball. That's just silly...

Phew...I thought for a minute you were a newbie that thought you could snipe in speedball, and I was going to have to slap you around.

Sniping in woodsball...well, let's clarify first. YOu can't really "snipe" persay...you can play in a sniper STYLE, but not necessarily TRULY snipe. Sniping requires shooting accurately from long distances, and staying concealed. Well, you can't shoot from long distances in paintball, and paintballs don't always fly straight...so.............

Playing in a sniper STYLE however...is different.

1) If you can, buy, or make...a ghillie suit. Don't know what one is? Do a search on the internet and you can find all sorts of examples

2) Be quiet. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

3) DON'T CAMP! That's not cool. Move around...but move around carefully and stealthily. THat would involve walking very slowly, crouched, and walking heel to toe. Avoid leaves and other things that go "crunch" in the woods. Twigs, leaves, etc... When you get close to the action, drop to your hands and knees. THe worst thing in the world for a sniper is to create a silhoutte for people to see. When you get REALLY close, slowly belly crawl to where you want to shoot from.

4) Don't move once in position (if you haven't been seen.) You can have the best ghillie suit in the world and be practically invisible...but if I see a bush move suddenly, I'm going to light that bush up...and then the bush will have to put in it's barrel plug, stand up, call out, and go back to the safe zone.

5) Find a good spot to hide in, that has a good firing lane (preferably more good lanes), and have at least two escape routes in case your spotted. If you ARE spotted, don't stand up and run...try and crawl your way out. If you stand, you just make yourself a bigger target.

6) Only fire one shot. If you hit your target...great. If you don't, wait for a moment or 5, because if you shoot too rapidly, you're going to give away your position. When you catch someone by surprise, the advantage is yours. THey won't know where the shot came from usually. But if you shoot rapidly, they're going to hone in on you very quickly. So take only a shot or two at a time...

7) Work with a teammate if possible. Have him/her act as a spotter... Use hand signals, and don't talk if at all possible.

AWESOME paintball site.

8) Oh yeah. Use a Tippy 98 with either a Smart Parts All American, or J&J Ceramic barrel. :)
