To improve your aim, just get a great gun, a great barrel, and just dump a sh*** load at small targets from a distance. Then try moving targets, like a willing friend, or better yet, a frisbee. The more you shoot the better your aim will get.

To be what a n00b would call a "great sniper", get a flatline autococker, sit way far in the back, shoot 5 balls a game, don't help anyone, and then tell all of your teammates who are yelling at you that you are "sniping".

One of these helps your team, you, and your image. The other is a load of crap. Guess which is which.

There is no real "sniping" (hiting a target from very long ranges) in paintball. However there is stealth, moving quietly and laying in wait. Try to move quietly and not give your position away, and only take a shot when you know you can hit your target.

Anyways I'd say it would be good to have a pair of camo's for the terrain that you'll be playing in. Be quiet, don't move, have good hiding spots are other things to do

I thought he was just talking jiberish. Thats a language. Ouch. O yeah, about the sniping thing, i'll say it plain and simple. JIMO i don't think sniping exists in paintball (this is from a tourney ballers preception).

I can't stand those people who get a dictionary definition to discribe sniper, because come on atrue sniper is someone who is extremlm accurate from far distances, not just someone who is accurate. What do you guys think about that?

no sniping is not shooting someone from great distances, its shooting someone from a usually concealed position. Now don't start making up meanings for words.

both of you are wrong. Sniper comes from hunting the "snipe" bird. People would earn the title sniper when they would shoot a snipe bird.

Snipers, what a joke. There were these guys at my local field that were like "okay guys, remember our motto, One shot, one kill." They got shot out off the break and in the staging area were like "I wonder why we didn't play well? i didnt even get a shot off." I had to correct them and then i told them about abeing agressive. Needless to say, they still sucked.

no i am not wrong. sniper was derived from the word snip( a type of bird), and the people who shot these birds were called snipers( like virus said). But if you look at the dictionary my definition of the word is there but the one being accurate from a far distance isn't. People start accociating sniping a distance because the military sniped from really far distances. The only reason they do that is because they are CONCEALED. so stop mixing sniping and distance.

Down here in Texas, we always just called it l337. Oh well, not that it really matters. What does matter (not really) is that most people mean military type sniper when they say "sniper". Why? Because this is what most other people think of it too. Walk down the street, and find someone who knows nothing of paintball. Ask them to define "sniper", and 10 times out of 10, you will have them say something about distance, w/o a mention of being in a concealed place. The only people who use the dictionary definition of sniper are paintballers who once used the term to define themselves, and like most paintballers are too arrogant to say they are wrong, so they must find a technicallity with which to save their asses.

But what really does matter (really!), is that Texas and Colorado are playing for the BIG12 title next week!!!

You are one of those annoying people I was discibing in my last post. I mean come on, the definition in a dictionary may be what you say, but in modern day, "sniper," is used to discribe, "A long distance shooter from concealed positions."

modern day snipers with real guns can snipe from really long distances because they can. Rifles can fired accurately up to several hundreds of yards. I dont care what kind of barrel to paint match you have, markers will never be as accurate rifles. So paintballers have to improvise when sniping. By finding a ways to quiet their markers down or just finding a really good hiding place. You don't need to be really far away and have one shot one kills, that is impossible with markers, but it is not impossible to snipe in paintball.

YES IT IS! in order to snipe you take people out from long distances. the best you can do in paintball is something called a "luck shot"

i am going to stop arguing about this, i've done this to many times. if you think there is no sniping in paintball continue to believe that and if you think there is continue to believe in that. People have their own opinions about these things, so can't we all just get along.
