My bko is the biggest gas hog around. What can I do to make it get better efficiency?

Set up your regs correctly. If that doesn't help, get a new valve.

What size is your tank? And what is your inline set to?

im having the same problem, my gun isnt that big of a gas hog but it still uses a lot. i have a 91 4500 tank and its suppose to last 1500 but it only lasts like 700 with my bko!!

um well it is a 3a tank, i'm not gunna start a flame war, but i've heard bad things about them and i've heard great things, so try to set your regs and see where it geos form there.

It's probably not the tank reg. 3A's probably is no Centerflag, but I doubt it's the tank reg.

Actually, I think it is a centerflag..... Notice how little a difference there is:
Centerflag (http://www.centerflagproducts.com/Products/420.html)
3A (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36287&item=3690072869&rd=1)
The reg is actually decent. It's putting the reg on the tank that I don't trust.
You might have a leak. Check the tank and gun for leaks.
Paintball545: Shorten your sig. It's very long. I think the max is 12 lines of regular sized type. Yours is about 25

what should my reg on my bko be set at? I think it was reading out to be a little under 200psi.
Kowz_76

Ok, that might be your problem. You want it at about 250psi or so. Then reset your LPR to the correct velocity.

Yeah if you're BKO is stock, it should run around 250 or 275psi. Set your inline to that and then set up your LPR correctly.
If you want upgrades to increase efficiency, a new valve is probly the best upgrade. They are cheap at about $35, but they can make a huge difference. check out valves at www.tantrumpaintball.com

I thought only the new BKOs were supposed to be set that high? I thought pre 2k4s were supposed to have the hpr ~215-225. Im not sure what he has, but just letting him know there is a difference.

I think it might be a touch higher than that. Maybe my estimate was a little too high though. I just looked for an online BKO manual and couldnt find one at either ICDO or tantrum, so I'm not sure what pressure ICD says to have them at. I do remember that there is a difference between 03 and 04 BKO's though, cause of the volumizer and different LPR.
mazdadude, check your BKO owners manual. I know my B2K3 manual gives a recommended inline pressure range, see if your does also.

thanks for the help all!! Should get my air filled soon so ill check it out. I set my reg at aoround 230. just one more question, how many shots should I get from a 48ci 3000 psi tank?

expect a little more than a bag... i think thats it

45/3000 is a really small tank. I'd say about 400 shots at the most. You wont get a whole lot of shots. It is not nessesarily because the gun is inefficient, so much as it is because you have a really small tank that can only hold 3000psi of air. Try a larger tank or a 4500psi tank and you will get alot more shots.

he said a 48

oh, my bad. well it'll still be about the same. another 3 cubic inches=like 10 more shots.

hey, one question, for my B2k (in sig), im running the stock lpr right now. my hpr runs 250-280 depending on velocity. where should my lpr be set, i've got it set around 75 now and it works great. can i get any beter effiecientcy if i change it?

Yes it is a small tank. 'Cockers are probably more efficient than a BKO is, but I get over 750 shots off of my 47\3000. I know this because I looked at the gauge before the game- it read a 2500psi fill and I ran a hopper and 4 pods through it- Empire Reloader and 140 round Supertubes from Java, PMI, and 32 Degrees, if you're wondering.

lucwil, I would say you're right around where you should be. You could probly turn down your HPR a bit (keep it around 250).
Those are some very nice regs you have, with a new valve you could have insane efficiency. Besides, you've already spent plenty of money on your regs, so whats another $35 for a valve?

 New valve=my first up when I get my BKO (which isn't definite.)

ya, i have an 03 zeni valve, im having problems with it, it leaks a bit. im gonna pick up an 04 zeni or vapor valve soon.
i cant run my palmers though, when i put it on it doesnt regulate the pressure at all. the ram pressure reads way off of the scale on my ram pressure gauge. the only thing i can think of is that the piston is siezed (one of them) and the air just goes in and leaves at the same pressure. i took it apart and there apears to be no problems. any suggestions?

I'd go for Vapor, I know I am. A cup seal needs replacement less often, and is actually more secure.
