I have a blue flex 7 and when i play i fold the front up. Anyways, i went to bunker this guy and he shot me and a ball broke on my teeth :). But ive also been shot on the chin many times. It doesnt really hurt, and I wouldnt go as far as to say its a horror story.

that is why i love my spectra. it doesn't bend in the front. as for horror, having 5 shots hit you chin area. i walked off with a mouthful of paint...

one time i was shot wearing a scott mask of some sort with the hard bottom.

this guy with a tippy hit me from about 5 metres away, and the ball busted before it hit the mask (whew!)

it broke on the mask cover, and i got a nice mouthful of Zap performance plus. actually tasted a little like chicken :)

what i learned from this, if you are being fired at, dont open your mouth to talk.

sweetkid, i see people with the front of their flex 7 folded up all the time. whats the point of doing it???

i think it makes the bottom part for stiff so it won't hit you in the mouth.

jdogg,
i used to flip it up when i needed a mask break and couldn't get one or when i needed to scream something to someone. it feels amazingly more comfortable to not have your breath coming back at your nostrils after exhaling. it feels like your just wearing gogs when you flip it up. but then it's dangerous. :|

This didn't happen to me, but a kid once lifted his mask off his face and got a paintball right in his eye. Can't see out that eye anymore.

some people flip up the flexible bottom on a JT Flex 7 Ize so they can communicate with their team easier.

i don't have a flex, but when i was a newb, i got shot in the forehead from about 15 feet away. didn't hurt that bad, but it did cut the skin and bleed a bit. stupid BE deluxe mask.....

sometime i feel like there should be more than just a strap to keep ur mask on. because there might be a small chance of it coming off on accident, and getting nailed in the eye.

One time this guy i know had his goggles fog up on him around the top of the goggles and was looking threw the crack in the bottom where they werent fogged and he was kida lookin up to see out of the bottom and got popped right in the throat. Hard to explain.

Actually my mask flew off my face once. i got shot right in the goggles and stepped backwards and fell on my back. well i was wearing a hat backwards and the bill hit the ground and flipped off my head, taking the mask with it. scared the crap out of me because the guy who shot me in the goggles kept firing after i went down. people i play with need to learn how to listen when people scream hit.

You probably should of rolled over on yoru stomach and stuck your face in the ground and cover your head w/ both arms and scream "MASK OFF, MASK OFF" ...

.. Actually, the refs around here tell you to do that before you get to play (if its your first time at the field) and they tell you that if you ever here "MASK OFF, MASK OFF" then you should stop firing immediatly, and if you see the person w/ their mask off, you should jump on top of them and cover them .. haha .. You would look pretty stupid, but id sacrifice that for both my eyes

Today I was looking for my friend in some trenches. He pooped out from behind a bunker and starts shooting, I exchange fire and turn around and take off for my bunker. A piantball went inside my mask and hit the nose area of the mask, spraying paint and shell all over my face.

Reffing a rental field for 2 years was greatly entertaining. It was common for someone to take off their mask in the middle of the field due to fog/bad fit/ too hot/etc... We developed a strategy for dealing with those. If we saw someone (generally kneeling) with their mask off, we would go over and hug their head with their faces buried in our crotch. Seemed to only take the one incedent for people to realize that it was bad to do.

on a side note.

during the 2 weeks that it was cool to wear just gogs and no mask while playing paintball I got shot in the face. So here I am with a nice round 68 caliber cut in my cheak along with a massive welt. Oh yeah... and it's closing night for a play I am in. I had to pack the fresh wound with scar wax and makeup so the audience couldn't tell... that sucked a LOT.

We were playing in a blueberry field which was rundown and they have netts to keep birds out. My cousin had us go there becuase he knew the owner. We go there and one of the games i am flanking and then someone starts chasing me with a mag. His paint is on my *** so i run. Well, inorder to keep the netting up, there is long, thin metal wires to help support. I am running and look up and there is the wire at my throat. I do the limbo and the wire hits the button on my hat and rips the mask off. Another time i just got garroted with the wire :pissed:

after playing for a few years, ive seen a few instances where some rec ballers (usually rentals) masks fall off in a game due to them not fitting right

a cool ref i talk to alot when i go, whenever he refs he tells the people if he sees you start to take off your mask he will tackle them to the ground, and thats what he does, ive seen him do it twice

I remembered that at my friends house. He found a pack of 200 BE paint that had been frozen for like 2 years. They actually smelled good. :eyes: . We werent about to taste them.

My cousin just bought a JT IZE flex. I felt the bottom part of the mask and it was like paper-thin!! Now im thinking thats dangerous so why did JT make it like that!?

Back in the day I had a JT Elite X-fire mask but the bottom was a really thick and really stiff rubber piece.

I was playing speedball on a Saturday afternoon an we were into our 3rd to the last game. Now I am a front player so I'm around the 50 when some guy pops his Impulse out of the side of one bunker about 5 feet a way and pops me in the forehead. That stung alot and broke open a lot of blood veins.

That same day a game later I was playing back because on the start my marker jamed and I got behind a bunker with a friend and cleaned my marker for a little bit. Thats when the other teams back players laid down the paint so I hit the 'sawdust'. I'm glad I did cause I started taking people out left and right because there was a little hole there. Then there were 10 seconds left in the game and two guys started to bunker me (by this time my friend was out). One guy I got out (he had a Impulse) and the other guy (he had an Angel) had a fire fight. He put 3 shots into my mask leaving a little crack. Now I need to replace the lense:mad:
