well, tomorrow in the early AM, I'm departing on a road trip to Maine. Vacation baby!

I'm not sure if anyone will miss me or not...but I figured I'd say bye to all my fellow ICD'ers cuz I won't be posting for a little over a week.

also, I'm going to need quite a music selection to last the entire trip, so any suggestions would be appreciated. I Need a nice drivin' mix, and i suck at making good mix cds :)

thats cool, have fun before we have to go back to prison-er, I mean-school.

BTW it looks like you're gonna be a senior, have you checked out any colleges yet? If you've got the grades, check out LaFayette, in Easton PA. sweet school, my parents went there and now my Dad's making tons'o $$$. :D

For the trip, check out Jet and Velvet Revolver. There's not much good music coming out right now, but those bands are freakin awesome, they sound like actual rocknroll as opposed to all the whiny emo crap that has been coming out lately.

Bush, Guns'N'Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, ACDC, the Chilli Peppers, some Ozzy/Black Sabbath, Queens of the Stone Age, Lost Prophets are ok, plenty of Dave Mathews, Greenday, and no collection would be complete without The Beatles and the Hendrix. If you want variety and you're into jazz pick up Chris Potter, Josh Redman, Sonny Rollins, and some John Coltrane and Charlie Parker (both are classics!).

It's not really cold and Bar Harbor sucks.

How does it suck? It's probably the only real vacationy thing in Maine. As for cold, in our hemisphere, north=cold, and Maine is northernmost state in the contiguous U.S. Geography: it helps.

North doesn't always equal cold. It can have to do with how close you are to water also. My bro was recently to Canada and said it was really nice and like 70 degrees everyday earlier in the spring, when it was probably about 45-50 here in Wisconsin. That's why we're the frozen tundra though :) God did we have snow this year. My back still hurts from the shoveling :(

Maine St hehe, there is one, that is funny

Um... well, in the summer it's a nice 80 degrees here. Not too hot, not too cold. In the winter, it's usually in the 20s or so, sometimes it'll be really cold though. It's not tough to deal with anyway.

As for Bar Harbor being the only thing worth seeing, you are on crack. Bar Harbor = poop. It's soooo crowded and just stupid. Some little shops that sell crap that make you look like a tourist. You know, all people from here hate tourists right?

And Lucky, you should hit up that tourny at splatz, it'll be a good time.

The 20's isnt cold enough for you? Thats freakin freezing down here. Down here in the winter it hardly ever drops below 30* during the daytime.

BTW, south=cold too. Look at the southernmost tip of south america, they have penguins down there.

not that i wouldn't love to play a tourney while on vacation.....but....i don't think it's possible...lack of funding....and my mom said this is to be a vacation from paintball also, and she doesn't want to hear about it....eh, whatever that means :goody:

yeah, and it wasn't my choice to go to Maine...thats where the parent's want to go so i'm just along for the ride...it'll be cool though, me and my dad are going fishing in the ocean on a charter boat, something I rarely get to do.

***CAUTION: If you are with the RIAA stop reading now ***

and lotus, I'm in the process of d/ling music from the bands you listed that i didn't have somthing from....hope i picked good ones....have about 15 D/l's pending right now....

Download some Billy Talent, it's one of best rock bands I've ever heard. Heres some more, Offspring, Red Hot Chili Peppers of course!, Muse has one good song, The Hives, Sublime, Franz Ferdinand has a good one, The Killers have a good one, The Darkness has a couple good ones, Green Day is just plain awesome every one of their songs is good, also I was suprised but Modest Mouse has some cool songs because they are so different, Velvet Revolver has a good one, and you have to have Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Alice Cooper, Three Dog Night, Guess Who. I could go on forever, but i REALLY suggest checking out Billy Talent if you live Green Day and Velvet Revolver. If you have ANY Simple Plan I will personally come and slash the tires of whatever kind of vehicle is taking you to Maine.... J/K I hate Simple Plan. A few of my friends just got back from Maine and they said it was sweet, because they went hiking up some mountains around there, and they said the fog is extremely thick in Maine. They said Bar Harbor was pretty cool too. Thats about all I remember them talking about, but they had some sweet pictures.

The south is only cold in the extreme south. Aka southern Southern America. The rule is as you distance from 0' latitude, you get colder. In America that just means go north.

I've got Smash, its way better than Americana.

I've heard Billy Talent is cool, gotta dl some stuff.

sry rhchillipepper, Darkness=:pissed: . Naw, to each his own, I can kinda see the retro appeal in them (the guy kinda reminds me of Freddy Mercury from Queen). I just cant get over the dude's voice. Kinda like how I hate AFI cause the singer is crap. And yeah, simple plan is a great example of the whiny garbage music that is coming out these days. Remember back in the good ole 90's, when boy bands were *** and everyone knew it? Now its like Boy Band+guitars+tatoos=simple plan.

Oh yeah, Iron Maiden! good songs from them are "Revelations", "The Number of the Beast", "The Clansman", some others I cant remember. And you have to get "Life's been Good To Me" by Joe Walsh (of the Eagles). And Sevendust rocks.

Well that should keep you busy for awhile. 15 dls at once isnt too many. I have that many songs dling right now, and you dont even want to know how many pornos :D .

I've forgone the last 2 Offspring albums. I only liked about half the songs, so I just downloaded the good songs. The good ones, especially on Conspiracy of One=pure powdered snortable sweetness. But some of the songs feel kinda like they sold out :( Dont have Ixnay, is that an older album? might pick it up and get back into the Offspring again. I cant believe it, I'm only 17 but the 90's already feel kinda nostalgic. I watched Bad Boyz 1 again, it felt so old.

07-29-2004, 08:20 PM
I kinda like the Darkness's voice, because it's so girly and g-a-y that it's funny... My favorite song by the offspring is Can't Get My Head Around You. That song is just plain awesome. But every single song on Conspiracy Of One is awesome, thats why I like it so much. The old offspring stuff is good too. I'm buying Billy Talents CD soon...

You can't forget sublime either! Date Rape!
Let me tell you 'bout a girl I know,
Had a drink about an hour ago,
Sitting in a corner by herself,
In a bar in downtown hell.
She heard a noise and she looked through the doors,
Inside a man she never seen before,
Light skin light blue eyes,
A double chin and a plastic smile.

That's all i know off the top of my head from the beginning of the song. The end is the best part though:
I can't take pity on men of his kind,
Although he now takes it in the behind.
Butt Rape!
(crazy trumpet playing)

Your music. :( Oh well, haha. All differenent. My dad has the ultimate road trip accesory (no he doesn't take any). It's a 20GB MP3 player that he uses from his CD changer. Pretty neat. BMW has the samething with iPods, but that one requires you to hog the 12v cigarette lighter and use the screen. The Phatbox (for any VW/Audi) uses voice to tell you information. Keeps your eyes on the road.

NOT totally.....found an Internet cafe up here in Maine....paying 7 cents a minute, but it's worth it to keep gomster in line.

anyways, I arrived safely yesterday, thank god...you know what 14 hours in a car feels like? damn traffic......

one more thing, it's friggin hot up here! it's hotter than in PA, just my luck, there having freakishly warm humid weather or something.....in other news, going deep sea fishing tomorrow, and probably just fishing from shore sometime tonight.

Also, enjoying the plentiful seafood!

well , I probably won't be back around until I get home, but I might....who knows....anyways, c-ya till then!

oh you dont know you dont know.....lets see i live right under D.C. in Virginia, and i go down to Florida every winter...which is about 16 or so hours. i went up to Niagara falls one time which was like 12 hours, and i went to Chicago one time which was like 15 hours in the back of a Volvo wagon...no not the back seat in the back meaning no seat no seat belt, just stuffed in there with luggage which took up about 3/4 the space. because my LITTLE brother(as in smaller and younger than me), and my grandfather had to have the THREE person back seat all to themselves.:o cheap parents:( dont ever want to fly...at least they let me fly to Washington, and Texas...ugh that would have been one hell of a drive:laugh:

Art Pre-shelled lobster is for sissies. You heard me.

Yeah, it was really hot today. The tourny was unbelievably hot. My gun didn't work right (as expected) so instead I got to use this dude's freestyle (number 6 ever made!) It was so sick it isn't even funny.

As for deep sea fishing, I went Tuna fishing with one of my coworkers the other day. We decided to split any money we made off a tuna. I made 6 grand. Hell yeah.

6k for a Tuna man. $32 a pound. 375lb tuna. Relatively small actually, but we got $12000 for it. And since we split it's 6k each.

The LPR works awesome, it's the solenoid that's not happy.

Man, no wonder my family barely eats tuna for dinner anymore. I knew it was getting really expensive, but thats ridiculous. I want to go Tuna fishing, I would only need to catch one fish and I would have enough money to buy my car for college. But I'm only 135 pounds, I couldnt pull in a 375 pound tuna myself. I'd need a coupla buddies to help out.

So Kowz, how would one go about going Tuna fishing? Where did you do it? hang on, lemme guess....the ocean! But seriously I need to make some $$$. a few thousand in one day sounds pretty good to me.

holy shight... i didnt know you could get that kind of cash for fish...no wonder it cost like $700 to go deep sea fishing. but man i gota try that some time. those fishermen must be rich making that kind of cash from just catching one fish. i mean damn, I could fly up there for one day catch me a big one if im lucky and fly back the same day and still be on top...money wise that is. i could probably pull one of them big ones in. im 220, and i can bench 200 and squat 350 aboot (just had to put that in there) so i could take one of em in i think.

So Kowz, seriously, I need money. I counted up my money the other day and found out that I am short by about $1000 of what I though I had because 1) I didnt keep track of all the money I'm spending on paintball, and 2) I think the bank screwed something up with my savings account. I (actually, my dad) deposited probly about $600, but now my account is showing the same amount as it did before the $600 was deposited, and I've never withdrawn any money from it, so I'm out some money.

Anyway, how can I go about going deep sea fishing? I can research alot of it myself, but for starters how much does it cost, how/where do you sell the fish and who do you sell it to, etc. If you were just kidding about selling the fish for $12000 then now is the time to tell me, cuz I seriously am thinking about this I NEED MONEY! $$$$$$$$$$$$444444444$$$$44$$$$$four$$$$$$
