First, let me start by saying, there will be NO MORE MGMOs, b/c SHAG bunkered me (hard) at IAO this year, breaking the, "If you shoot me, I will not do another order," rule.
Secondly....and EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS:
After a serious discussion over several beers/shots, the guys @ IAO agreed we need more then ONE event a year to get together with other like minded individuals and we pretty much all agreed it needs to happen annually. We also agreed that there is one (and only one) location where it needs to happen....and that's Sacramento, CA, home to all of the Palmer children.
I spoke with Lori today, to run some ideas by her about a possible Palmer Owners event and here's what we've come up with so far:
The event will be held some time in March 2005 (yes, we'll schedule it this far out so EVERYONE can plan ahead). Aside from Mardi Gras Open, I can't think of any other *major* event held that month, and spring is a nice time to be in northern California (from what I hear). It would be a 3 day event that would go something like this;
a) Friday - meet & greet at the shop, pick up paint, random draw for team assignments, pizza party at hotel/shop
b) Saturday - 7/10/15? man random draw tournament, rules would be NPPL, you must use a Palmer marker to play, all paint must be pre-ordered from PPS (Lori has already said the local fields are BYOP and we can get high grade paint very inexpensively by buying in volume)...basically on Friday, everyone draws #'s and those #'s coincide with a team. On Saturday you play with that team in a round robin tournament. Winners are to play a team of Palmer All-Stars (made up of shop members, possibly including Glenn and/or Craig). Entry fee unknown, but it will include a BBQ that evening @ the field (when play is done) and potentially a band playing as the party goes into the night.
c) Sunday - a "big game" event! Open day play, where basically teams are divided up into 2 teams, walk-ons welcome, a fun day of mowing muppets dead! Not so much a true "scenario game," but more of a Castle Conquest, big game kinda thing. Basically just a fun day to shoot a lot of people with minimum objectives. Lunch to be provided possibly.
Basically the whole weekend would be one big entry fee for POG members, at a discounted rate, and paint would be available for pre-order at a discounted rate.
The question is, given 6 month advanced notice, knowing PPS will be in full attendance, and that there will be lots of fun and memories....would you show up?
B/c I've talked to 3-4 guys who've already said, "when can I book my airline tickets?"
I'd like to see at least 50-100 POG members show up, but I'd go insane of more could make it.
Spread the word. Post on this thread and let me know if you'd be interested.
Let's make it happen guys!
