SUp. I have a science project I have to do at my school. We get to pick our subject but it has to do with science in a way. We picked trajectory and the effects of roundness on flying objects. Of course, me and my partner are into paintball and we picked paintballs. Our test balls are brass eagle, proball, and quake. We are going to set up about 35 feet away and shoot a target with my impulse . We have to make sure that we are shooting from the same position each time. We have to video tape it as well. We are going to shoot like 5 of each brand. We will measure from the center of the target to see which brand has the best trajectory. Does this sound good to you?
By The way, we picked brass eagle as one of our brands so it will be a bit easier to determine the best brand ;)

if you put dents in the balls also it will make it even less scientific...
If you didn't get 6 month old B.E. and all the paint fits your barrel the same, and they are the same weight, then it'd be better.

thats true but we are kinda testing for my gun not just the performance of the paintballs but the performance of the paintballs in my gun. sorry i didnt put that above.

I dunno. It sounds like a good idea, but there's some big problems that are gonna be difficult to overcome. First and foremost is ball size. Any and all science experiments are meant to have one variable and all other things must remain constant. Otherwise you can't get accurate results. So while the balls will have different levels of roundness, you won't know for sure if the diffierenc in accuracy is a result of paintball match, roundness, or weight. Sounds like a novel idea, but in it's current state I'm not sure if it's workable. You'd be better off to use the same brnd of paintballs and slightly deform a couple, and leave a couple round. Hope this helps you ot some

i could just use brass eagle balls since none of them are like ever the same. but the thing is, we told my teacher were we testing 3 different brands. We need to find 3 brands that are the same size. I know the quake is a little smaller than BE and Proball so I might just go to sport authority or something and buy one of those 500 packs of Zap and just use it instead of Quake. Any other ideas, folks? Any help would be appreciated, we need a good grade.

what happens if you microwave a paintball?
you could have a hot paintball, a regular paintball and a frozen paintball. just an idea.
