Unless we are gonna use pump guns for the rest of our lives here in Australia, **boring**
we've gotta make the guns look as harmless as we possibly can. And it doesnt exactly help when you see some sites on the net with these huge stocks, 20" ported barrels and camo. gear. Yeah i know its a fact of paintball, but to get together and tone it down a little wouldn't hurt would it??It'd help you lot an awfull lot and it would be great for us out here as well.
It sounds like a job that could never be done but unfortunately it is inevitable for the future survival of the sport.

people get nervous when they here the word gun. they automatically think of killing each other. if you say marker they dont have any reference to somthing that will kill sombody

the 'markers' are classified as firearms in Australia. Are they in the USA?

They did a study about kids shooting paintball guns and proved to a certain extent that a kid who's shot a paintball gun is more likly to be able to point a real gun at another person then a kid who has never shot a paintball gun, but my personal belief is that paintball diverts a lot of the kids that would be playing with real guns into playing with paintball guns. What do you guys think?

prolly cause there is no physical contact in lazer tag when you get "marked"

in paintball, you get hit.. )and it often makes the women (wives, girlfriends) nervous when they hear grown men talk about how much it hurts

haro, my question would be, "Who did the study and how was it done?" Any study can be skewed any direction to make it come ou the way you want it too for your own purposes.
You folks down under are in bad shape, eh? You aren't alone. There are plenty of dictator types working very hard here to take the firearms away from the common people. Take away the peoples arms (weapons), and you can take away their freedoms.........including the freedom to play paintball.

the only way they can take paintball away is putting a law for under 18 or 21 laws 4 paintball which would really suck for me. but if ur a adult they cant take it away from u cause its in the amendments or constitution but getto look on the bright side if they let u ude tricked out guns u will be aseome wit them cause u already know how to play good wit a pump and have the desclipine. which many of us americans overlook and never go trought good trainin.

Paintslanga made a good point about the pumps. the people I am taliking about who would like to take away the right to play paintball are the one same people who shred the constitution daily. They have no regard for the liberty of the people in common, only for the liberty their money buys them.

It's more like video games. Not paintball. It's more likely paintball players will not do that because they are more responsible and paintball players know paintball is a SPORT and not a war simulation.

it is sport or technically a xtreme sport but its everybodys out to get paintball if someone beat someone down wit a bat its ok if someone gets shot they sont blame huntin or tv and if someone gets hurt cause they were boxing its the parents fualts and the same for wrestleing but if somone shots someone wit a paintball gun its all the sport to blame damn those politicians :pissed:

Hey PaintballDude,
It was paintball they did the study on, and what are you talking about, paintball is way closer to shooting real guns then video games, and in video games you don't shoot guns at real people do you.

Personally, I have shot real guns, and let me tell you, as much fun as they are, they are nowhere even NEAR paintball guns. I know one girl who went to NJ Boot camp an got to shoot a sniper rifle. However, she had her eye too close to the scope and when she fired (these things kick like a mother) it knocked her on her back and gave her a black eye. Maybe they should start producing sniper rifles with beaver tails.

I agree about the games, due to counterstrike, the first time i went to a range, I could handle a pistol easily without help. Paintball makes people understand how easy it is to get shot in war or otherwise, and its always the one you don't see that gets ya.

Hey i play paintball video games and most of them are mature vilent games.. i have grown addicted to both of those. any game thats supposed to be violent i laugh at it cuz im so used to it. heck my bro was 7 years old and hes beaten all kinds of levels on Duke Nukem...yeah i think thats rated mature too. i just usually say "marker around people who dont know what paintball is. my mom was scared of me playing my first game. Ha i was scared becuase the first day i got my gun i put a box outside and shot it.... that paintball went through 3 layers of cardboard from 10 feet away without even breaking... and it was hard card board so i was even afraid of it.

You know, I think that's right. I see a lot of newbs go onto the field thinking they will be invincible. Tehy change their minds really quickly when the realize that it is all different when someone is shooting back!
